had remained in charge and mirrored the results Nigel Adkins had there would have been car park protests today

Sharp- tick

Sammon / Woolford/ Edgar - meh

Hammond - yet to see what the fuss was

Someone somewhere needs to take responsibility and sort it out.

Other clubs came here and took 2-3 years - we are a fucking laughing stock amongst other football fans, and sadly our own :-(

You pay peanuts you get monkeys.

We need to create a hostile atmosphere for Jim Phipps and co, and let Kevin McCunt know our patience has gone with him

Other clubs like Leeds, Wednesday, Wolves Southampton , Norwich, all spent their way out, by buying up all the best talent available... We have tried to do it on the cheap and consigned ourselves to possibly a decade at this level.

Get yer hand in yer pockets then and buy us some decent players

Nigel Clough is largely at fault for our current position. He left us with a huge squad (barely released anyone in May/June) missing players in key positions. If he was still manager the former would still be a problem although probably not the latter. It's all very well saying 'Adkins should have known about the Centre Backs' but he wasn't watching last year. He has still recognised that that is a weak area but has made it clear that he is looking at getting players in in that area (Burn).
Managers aren't miracle workers. He's doing his best with a squad built by his predecessor. Yes he makes mistakes but in hindsight he's better than his predecessor.

If nigel clough
Was a puff
He'd probably like it up the chuff
I doubt he'd say enoughs enough
And wake up feeling proper rough

Clough had a season, had no prior management record of any decency and was falling out with players.

I'm not sure that is entirely true; i would say that this is the most expensive squad in the league by some way. In my opinion we have spent the money; but we have wasted it on players who are not good enough / dont work well collectively.

But then opinions are like arseholes.

The major difference with Adkins and Clough is that Adkins has managed 4 promotions in his career, three in this league, where as Clough has managed none in league football. You can't argue that he is well qualified for the job though I do concede his signings have been very poor so far. You live and die by your requirement in management. Clough signed his own death warrant with his terrible signings and Adkins is on his way to doing the same

Well I don't think that comment works anymore:

Brayford, Sharp, Hammond, Edgar and Sammon - won't be on a pittance

Adkins will be on a decent whack - no doubt amongst the highest paid in the division

Clough is still being paid

If you want to target anything as a gripe id say bad management from the board, but this year I don't think we can claim poverty when we're spunking money on the above...

Ha ha morning judge ! in fairness I don't need to argue that one with you this year as three of those mentioned are expensive loanees and the other two were big money signings.

Fact still remains that outside of money generated from.sales the board havent funded any signings

Is it a fact though judge?
Piecing together phippsys statements on spending it appears so yes

I promise you i dont have an agenda either way i like the guy and im thankful that they have come in and with their investment covering losses we are able to make signings i really am

But i cant see the long term strategy of coming into a football club and paying the losses year in year out and expecting things to just get better

You can probably argue we have spent a bit more than everyone apart from Wigan this season, but the type of spending I'm talking about is flexing so much financial muscle it buys you a side that blows everyone else out of the water, you saw what Wolves were able to achieve with the Premier parachute money at this level.

We are supposed to have a co-owner who is a member of the richest family in the world, the spin put on it when he arrived was that was the sort investment we could expect.... I'm still waiting.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, I've only ever wanted to know what makes its a fact.

It's not a fact of course, but it's an assumption.

Personally I'm losing patience with Phipps as I think he does more harm than good in his Twitter and Facebook comments. However, I agree with you, it's good that McCabe and the Prince are propping us up.

I too fail to see a long term plan in all this, we need stability more than anything and we have done since the prince came on board. So the McCabe style approach to removing managers is baffling at the very least. We've got a manager with a track record and he plays a brand of football deemed important to take us forward, so let's plan with him to take us forward for the next 2-3 years minimum.

That's the investment we need... Stability

#bettertogether #onwards
