Two weeks older than me. So I guess mine is the same answer.
 
Morgs and Richard Cresswell were both '77 like me, but they're slightly younger, Keef Gillespie was '75 so I think he's the closest to my age.

Bennett and Speed were the last players older than me
 
David Cotterill is one day older than me. That's about as spot on as I'm going to get.
 
Don't know if anyone older has played more recently, but Michael Brown is closest age wise but older.
 
After (too) much research, and a good dose of nostalgia, I've found that John Ryan, previously of Arsenal, Fulham, Norwich and later Manchester City fame played for us until 1982, beating Bruce Rioch and Martin Peters by a year

Couldnt find any player that was born in first 3 months of 1962 so for me it is Ian Benjamin (11/12/61). He got sold to WBA for £180,000 a few months after I left school. It was definitely an over-priced fee!
 



It would be great to say Deano but I suspect Craig Short played in the 06/07 promotion season. Probably Craig Short.

Was the photo earlier in the thread at Brighton last Saturday game of the 84/85 season? And the player circled Brian Smith??
 
From the list on Wiki its Keith Edwards who is just over 3 months older than me.
 
I'm probably missing someome obvious who played a few games for us at the age of about 17/18 when I was a bit older but the current lot of Diego/Che/McGahey are all A few months - About 2 years younger than me.

What about Ian Rush ? Played for us in 1998.
 
There were a few from the team on Saturday, Coutts and Done were the closest who are both born on July 22nd 1988.

Of the injured players, Ryan Flynn (4th Sept 88) is the most recent player born closest to my birthday from the current squad.

Including ex players, Kevin McDonald was born on 4th November 88, he's the closest I can find to my 1990 birthday so far.

Edit. Nick Blackman - 11th Nov 89. Getting closer..
 
Not sure on this one,but some of the young lads who came through late 70's were slightly older than me..Gary Hamson August '59 is close,although probably there's someone between then and Jan 1960...after that i remember starting to feel old when for the first time I was watching players like Trenton Wiggan that were younger than me...now even the Managers are younger than me ffs.
 
Alex Sabella was born in the year I was born

I share my birthday with Jackie Chan I just found out

finding out Tony Currie was borm in 1950 came as a blow to moral
