What did Che do?

The point is making Che realise that his actions have weakened the team. We also won 3-1 without him.

If he's not towing the line (and fair enough, he's young and now a bit successful, understandable), he needs telling AND showing I think. Adkins has made a short term point with hopefully long term benefits. Che needs to know he's part of a team and that means not being a nob and finding yourself out of it.

I'm sure Adkins knows that for all the bollockings he can give, it will be nothing compared to what the players give him/expect from him.

Think I said something similar elsewhere Sheff, but you're not to know that. Agree with your points, let's hope Adams takes this to heart and responds accordingly.

You may have done, but I'm off work sick at the moment and so drugged up I might yet end up having a three page argument with myself without realising :)

It maybe controversial but I don't think its the correct form of punishment. Make the lad play and make sure you get a performance. All Adkins has done has weakened the team or at least the bench

That would just boost his ego and think he is untouchable. Just because he is a good player it doesn't mean he should be treated any differently to the rest. Adkins has got it spot on and give Che a bit of a reality check.

Unfortunately that might be all we do get to support for some time yet, then we will graduate to big arseholes. :)

Does the club have an ongoing problem in the dressing room? More so than other clubs?
Evans, McFadzean, Baxter, McNulty and now Adams (and McGahey?) all involved in incidents or disciplinary issues of varying degrees in the last 5 years.
Under 4 different managers, so it can't be pinned down to a certain regime.
It doesn't help when we sign total aresholes and convicted woman-beaters like King and Mattock either. Great role-models they were!

Not sure if it's just us or football in general. If I'd been paid what some of these kids are being paid at 18/19 I'd have been a massive dickhead too. (wouldn't beat women though).

I am not suggesting he should be treated any differently. An apology is going on the field and putting a shift in and who knows he may have helped score a goal which would have got three points

Also ultimately we don't know what he has done or have I missed it?

IF we have more of an issue than other clubs then it could be precisely bc of the turnover of management.

That said a handful of generally minor incidents - with one glaring exception - over several years seems about par.

How is it good discipline?

I'm obviously not aware as to the extent of what he has done which would of course be the main deciding factor in not letting him play, but I can't imagine him doing something that bad that Adkins would risk a worse side.

There's many other ways to achieve discipline without weakening the team in the process.
there can be only ONE manager, obviousy nigel thinks anyone who thinks they are bigger than SUFC will have to think again or feck off

I bet he wouldn't do it again if they fined him a hefty chunk either.

I notice Liverpool goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux " has returned to League One side Swindon Town on loan after apologising for paying a fine with 5,000 one pence pieces. The 21-year-old had been sent back to Anfield on Monday after he used the coins to pay his fine for turning up late to training. "

How is it good discipline?.

Because assuming Adams breached a disciplinary code no matter how good that player is he should be punished in the same manner as any other player. Come on Barns, this one is easy even by your standards.

If Adams got disciplined for that tweet, I think its harsh. He is not calling anyone any names or insulting anyone. he doesn't even say the ref was wrong, just said he couldn't believe he got booked. He also used what I believe the kids call emoticons so it was lighthearted.

Mr Adkins, if this is true for gods sake get over yourself and pick a team to win a match. If this is the worse the lad does in his career he will not go far wrong

It's not true though is it?

It's not true because, as you say, it would be ridiculous. And if it were, he'd have deleted the tweet by now.

Who says Adams has been disciplined for that tweet its all speculation FFS. Its highly unlikely that was the case
So slagging Adkins off for disciplining Adams on the basis of pure speculation is pretty silly
The players especially young ones like Adams who has been thrust into the spotlight coming from non league need to know who is boss and what they can and cannot do and what is expected of them as a professional footballer if not they will take take the piss and their careers will more than likely go downhill

I think Adams may well have been disciplined for a dive on Saturday and if it was a dive when he was through on goal the lad deserves to be dropped. If he is allowed to get away with those antics at an early age it will damage him as a player, it seems rubbing shoulders with the premiership young uns could have been a bad influence on him. Lets leave that cheating rubbish in the premiership, it has never harmed any players development to play the game in the right spirit.

Perhaps McC was paid with 100 of her finest pennies which pissed him off and slowed down the game changing stuff?

Does anyone have a clip of the foul/dive? Haven't seen it yet.

I don't know who wrote that little account but the English is grievous, 'one pence pieces' can be much better expressed by the word 'pennies'.

Pence is another plural of penny - so writing one pence is as incoherent as saying I've got a cars.

Who wrote it *Cyprus Blade ? *Cyprus of course being named after copper btw.
