What did Che do?

Listened to Adkins' interview. Sounds very much like he was told to have a quiet one at the weekend and finish off his recovery from illness but perhaps chose to do otherwise. That's what came across in a round about way.

According to twitter he got into a fight on Saturday night in players. However I was in Players myself on Saturday night and didn't see anything of the sort so perhaps take it with a pinch of salt

Doesn't sound too serious but I'm sure Adkins usually debriefs games on Sundays. I wonder if he turned up late after McGahey's birthday bash and he hadn't quite cleared all the ale out

Lesson dished out by Nigel, let's hope Che reflects and takes it on board.

I'd expect a positive reaction from him on Saturday (if selected)

I know it's easy to jump to a conclusion that suits our own prejudice, but I doubt Adkins would have dropped Adams for feigning a dive. The likelihood is that it's an off the pitch incident, not dissimilar to what happened with McNulty when Clough was here. I'd back Adkins 100%, but I'm also angry with Adams for allowing himself to let his team-mates and the supporters down.

At least Adkins is letting everyone know that should they cross a line he'll come down on them like a ton of bricks.

It's funny, there was a different response clough disciplined players

There's a difference between leaving someone out of the squad for a game due to poor discipline and banishing players from the club for good because they gave the manager a slightly funny look...

How is it good discipline?

I'm obviously not aware as to the extent of what he has done which would of course be the main deciding factor in not letting him play, but I can't imagine him doing something that bad that Adkins would risk a worse side.

There's many other ways to achieve discipline without weakening the team in the process.

I bet he doesn't do it again.

Rich footballer charged pocket money or football player dropped from match day squad and reason why explained to fans through the media afterwards?

Come on.
With all due respect I don't think you've thought this one through.

How will the media reacting, creating negative headlines, and no doubt a small portion of abuse as a result effect young Che's confidence do you think? And arn't we told how much of a vital component that is to how players play these days, especially young players.

We only have to look back to Clough's expertise in that field as an example of how a manager can negatively effect a players performances via the media.

It would result in him probably being less likely to repeat his stupid mistake again more than charging him a few quid that me can easily afford.

There's too many reported sightings of our young players on nights out in Sheffield acting cocks. It's a stupid place for them to be on a Saturday night. If we've lost it's obviously going to look bad to our fans and gives the impression they don't give a shit. And regardless of our result there will be a Wednesday fan waiting around somewhere to have a pop or wind them up into something stupid.

Even taking football out of the equation, Che Adams is probably on 10-15 times more than most of the young lads out in town his age. I'm sure this probably embeds a certain degree of arrogance into him which is going to make him a target. He has to understand that there are responsibilities attached to being a footballer that far outweighs what's expected of the lads around him in these bars and clubs.

He's talented but still so, so raw and his career can easily go one of two ways. His pal Baxter should be playing at a higher level but his attitude hasn't been the best and look where it's got him, flat-lined. McGahey joined with a "bad attitude" reputation and he hasn't kicked on as a player at all. Like others have said, he's nowhere near the required quality, if he's a bad egg I'd honestly just get rid of him. Scougall joined with, what looked like, a fire in his belly and a desire to succeed. But slowly that's drained away, I have to wonder with the bad stories about McNulty if there's a bad culture running through our youngsters and they're all just negatively influencing each other.

I know this story remains unconfirmed but it's really annoyed me, I don't want to support a bunch of jumped up little arseholes.

Which would be more beneficial, him learning from his mistake but performances suffering from a plumet of confidence, or him also learning from his mistake through other means of punishment, and any fines would obviously have to be scaled up so that he feels the effect just as any normal person would. All that, whilst the confidence remains high on the field. It's a no brainer for me. But again I stress that I'm not aware of what he's done, it might be that bad Adkins had no choice, in which case my point loses validity, but frankly I can't see that being the case.

Apparently occured after the Donny match according to the Stars latest article.

Which would kind of make sense. He had the arse on quite badly after his yellow card.
