Bladesplayer, worth it?

Is blades player worth the admittedly cheap (if it offers what I hope) price?

I listen to commentary on RS when at home. I thought Shoutbox was just the scrolling comments on top of S24..... Is there a commentary? Am I missing something?

My only gripe is the live commentary time delay, which is a minute, Sky has the goal info quicker sometimes.

I find the S24SU twitter feed is great for that on match days. But definitely thinking about trying Bladesplayer for the games I don't get to. Had a look on there and it looks like the archive goes back years as well, so might be handy for a bit of nostalgia - if it goes back far enough, there's not a right lot from the last 5 years that I want to watch again ;)

As usual B56

It's an "alternative" commentary - much admired by the likes of Pinchy who provides advice on drawing and other extra curricular activity.

Tis a joy to behold for those of us who cannot get RS as we live well outside it's broadcast zone - and t'internet blocks football commentary feeds over the net

One thing about Blades Player, it's not worth having in the close season but it will still automatically renew if you have a subscription. I also use PayPal so you can cancel it instantly wheneever you like.
If I go for it will probably bite the bullet and get if for a year. Unless I've missed summat, if you pay £4.50 a month for 9 months and cancel for the close season that's still over £40 vs £38 for the year?

what?? this thing comes with footage?? i've had it nearly two years and only ever hear the radio. .wtf?? :D

Prey tell, how doth one gain access to said Shoutbox? Is wireless equipment required or is is tinternet based technology?

I see there is an option when purchasing Blades Player to apply a voucher code. Any idea where can I get one of these from?

God bless you my son and may others have pity on your soul

So to be clear. As I sit here on this beach in front of a hotel with an excellent wi fi connection some 7,000 KM away I can pay around £38 on my credit card for Bladesplayer and that means I can watch the Swindon game on a PC or tablet albeit with poor quality vision and RS feed as the commentary?

that is something worth finding out if you need to use it abroad, hopefully someone on here will know one way or another. Think the guy in Norway, Bergenblade usets it. Some websites check for a UK IP address for this sort of thing, in which case you'd then need to research on summat called a VPN that can connect you as if you are in the UK.

Thanks for reminding me it's the Swindon game at the weekend, think that clinches it for me to give it a go.

Edit: also from what's been said on here, you wouldnt be able to see the Swindon game live (only the ausio commentarty) , it'd be a couple of days later.

actually just checked and it's a no to that question - the £38 price is for direct debit, it's £42.99 by card or paypal. Might go for monthly now, need another day to procrastinate on it now ;)

OK sod procastination, have just signed up for it. Had to choose a country so I reckon that might limit the options when on holiday abroad. The video quality is acceptable, tiny bit stuttery at times and that is on a wired connection not wifi, might try it on a different computer that I think would be faster.

I quite like having all the background sound but no commentary.
