with Brayford being tipped to be back much earlier from his injury, this would release Freeman to play in a more forward role. His offensive play has always been better than his ability to defend as he tends to go walk about and sometimes gets the wrong side. Could he be used to replace Murphy by playing him wide right?

Whereabouts did freeman play in midfield for those few matches after he came in last season before we moved him onto right back

Notts County away. Where else, not sure but I understand what the OP is on about. His first spell with us, he should have had so many penalties given in his favour. I like the fact he's not afraid to shoot. He did well Saturday defensively considering he had no decent back up from midfield,

Freeman came on as sub during a home game last season and played wide right mid/wing. Can't remember which game but might have been Donny, and we were all moaning because I think JCR went off so it appeared to be a defender for an attacking winger when the game might have been 2-2 and he really played well and made an impact. He may have played a part in the winning goal too. I'm sure someone will correct me if this is not right but he definitely came on in a home game, played right wing and played well.

Yep, I missed that game due to an holiday. Remember reading either clough or garner saying that was the reason they get paid to make the choices. Think the choices didn't work out that often during the season but that day certainly seemed to for them.

He came on to play central midfield for 10-12 minutes at Carlisle when Kennedy went off injured. After half time he switched to right midfield. He did well in both positions.

I've not seen loads of Freeman but he seems to be a tidy, quite skilful footballer. Not sure if he has the pace to be an out and out winger but he's certainly got ability on the ball. I've see him look both assured and woeful at right back. I suppose it goes back to the consistency argument that consistently good players tend to play at higher levels. He's certainly got something and I'd like to see him given a chance At right mid with the beard behind him.

once Flynn and Brayford are fit, there are a lot of options on the right hand side.

Didn't he play in midfield as a sub for a bit at Swindon earlier in January I that was the game but might be mistaken

Seems like you are questioning yourself in a Scottish way there!
