We've got Murphy wonga to get spent!

Don't want it burning holes in board members' pockets, do we?!

(Btw, to state the obvious: I'm talking about from the time that JM got sold, up to when the window closes on 1st Sept at 11pm. Loans included.)

Given the generous nature of our benefactors, I think it's well within the scope of their ambition to break new records and buy a forward for at least a couple of million, then a centre back for a mil and a half, then that creative midfielder who can actually do what Baxter masquerades as.

Just realised: should have included a "zero" option in that poll. Hopefully, the implied confidence in the club isn't misplaced.

See that Jim's just tweeted:

"100% of the proceeds are going to first team."

If so, should give Nigel plenty of room to manoeuvre & SHOULD mean an interesting couple of weeks before the window closes.
Let's hope this eventuality was planned for (can't see any reason at all why it wouldn't have been) & that transfer negotiations with key targets are well advanced.

£500k up front. £1.5 million if he scores the winning goal for Scotland at Qatar 2022 oh and a friendly with Brightons Under 21's in the 2017 pre season.

What's the talk been? Anywhere from £1.5m up to a maximum £2.2m?

Best just take the minimum figure to be safe & assume £1.5m, I'd have thought. Still serious money for spending at this level.
That's presuming we disclose any incoming transfers :)

What about this fair play thingybobs. Doesn't the money from the transfer go on next years budget?

Soz Derf, but reckon if we were start hearing excuses like that from the board (for not buying now using the funds generated) we may as well all pack up & go home.

Spoke to him Phipps before the game when he was coming round the stadium and he said we are looking to make 2 or 3 signings and said we are looking for a centre mid centre back and maybe a keeper

Long needs loaning out again.

And Howard needs to play the role of back up keeper / bench warmer.

Harsh ? Yes.

No where near dominant enough. The amount of balls he should have come for today that he didn't was frightening.Even in the 6 yard box never mind the 18 !!!

Think we have enough in CM personally. Just a new CB and Keeper reqd. as I see it. Hope we are shopping in the circa £1m bracket for these key positions to get the required quality in and through the door.

Would be perfectly happy to see us loan a couple of others assuming we can start offloading first.
