Edwards vs Reality

I'd love to sit beside Keith and listen to his story's while I'm watching the game, no problem, but trying to find out whats happening on the pitch with him rabbiting on about the journey down is frustrating, I think They ought to freshen it up a bit and have different summarizers to get different opinions because Keith has done it so for so long he's the one that's boring, not the game..
The Wendy's haven't had to put up with the same summarizer for the last forty years have they so why should we, is it because he's cheap ?

and some see as Edwards does. We are average and that is what Edwards sees because it hurts and we actually deserve more than average and the average keeps going on and on and on.............just like it is now - we are nothing more than average - again.
I wish Adkins all the best in taking what we have and making it better -he has probably realised by now what a tough job he and his management team have.

My post was in response to one about how Edwards tells it like it is. I was pointing out his was just an opinion. An opinion I often strongly disagree with, as do several others.

On the strength of a couple of games I've no idea whether we are average at the moment, but I think we've got the best manager we could have to move us up the League.

Sometimes it's down to the producer I think. They can tell the pundit what they're looking for, is it analysis, emotion, anecdotes?

If the producer isn't strong enough then the pundit can do what they like. Or the producer may be happy with what Edwards does.

You make a good point about freshening up; it doesn't make sense to stick with one voice, it's bound to lead to stagnation. Have others on rotation?

In that case, have an apology.

He was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I literally had to stop listening by 4.30 and not just because of the performance :) He's a one trick pony as far as I'm concerned. Tuesday night I will be listening to the away commentary, I've literally had enough of him.
There is too much punditry and not enough commentating in my opinion. I'm almost suicidal by the end of games. Even when we win he is, usually, so critical. I know last season we weren't good, but going back several seasons, he is always the same. When he is on holiday I quite enjoy the commentaries from his replacement, because that's what he does, commentates!
edwards is not a commentator he is a pundit

I do not mind Edwards and his comments, but at times he does go on and once he is on a track he sticks to it regardless of evidence to the contrary. Pointing out weaknesses in midfield he noted Wallace's inability to go past players - even in the highlights we see him do this successfully several times. So, when listening to Edwards a pinch of salt is needed as his goal is more to entertain then inform.
