I take it all back even after only one match.

Just come out of the ground and whilst the midfield were non existent (no service to front men and no protection of back four) the back four were sodding awful.

Get the CB position sorted Nige, if that means bringing in new players then do it quickly because that was inept from JMac and Collins - not sure they attacked a single ball did they.

Cannot make a silk purse out of a pigs ear . Its not that you lose , its how you lose . As last season , we have a good set of players but not league 1 players . The worrying thing , have the board money to buy 3 to 4 additional quality players to fill the positions we all know want filling . Adkins now knows now that positive , pyshological thinking does not work at BDTBL .

Disapointing yet again , but the guy cannot work miricles as said before on the forum.

We are going to finish up with a massive squad and a load of players nobody wants.

I'm dubious whether there's any money to spend
I'm dubious that we can afford more wages under FFS (since Brayford must be taking a fair slab of it up)
I'm dubious we can shift any of our unwanted players

It's not a case of bringing 2 CBs in. We desperately need a keeper who is very good and injury-free and we desperately need a DM who will protect the defence and also do box to box.

Agreed Mate, and the problem we're going to have is how to get rid of the dross. Are we allowed to cancel and pay off contracts and, even if we can, can we afford it? The thing that hurts me is that we lost without any fight (as we did so often last year) and I expected the manager to bring in a different attitude to that. It's early days so lets hope he does something to get a reaction but that simply was unacceptable.

He's had the entire close season to sort the defence out. It's been obvious what was needed since well before the Play Offs. He will have watched the games on video, he will have been told exactly what is needed by numerous people within the club and all the fans he's met. This lack of action cost is 3 points and 4 goals today. The defence isn't good enough. Why didn't we get a couple more defenders in, at least on loan, before the season began?

Watching today , thankfully the problem can easily be resolved IMO . As 20,000 of us know we need a new goalkeper and 2no quality , dominating CB players . Could it be that Adkins has given everyone a chance in the first game - could be .

If he didnt know the problem fully , he does now.

We are stuck with players on contracts , who i suspect nobody really wants. Bit of a dilema. If SUFC were as good as the support we would be laughing .

If this is sorted its not Adkins to thank , its McCabe and Prince , who yet again have to put there hands in there pockets.

Yes. Ideally all the shipping out would have been done months ago and we'll have signed 1 GK, 2 CB and a ST before todays game. We're starting the process of shipping out and in today and it should have been started months ago and completed by now.

In hindsight I have to admit to thinking you're right but I'm not going to knock Adkins for his clean slate policy. At least he has a few weeks before the window closes to do it now but he might soon be wishing he'd done what several of you (admittedly not me ) were advocating weeks ago.
