Anyone on here ever read it? In having a Google for some other piece of Blades-related bits of info, I came across a few sections of the book online and felt compelled to read them. While he was boss when I went to my first game in '91, I don't remember the various off-the-field stuff. Some bits of interest:
- confirmed we had a deal lined up for Kevin Muscat in 1995, but we effectively had a transfer embargo imposed by the board till the McDonald takeover happened. I hated Muscat.
- David White, brought in on loan during that embargo, was there as a mole, spying on the team for his board-member dad?!
- Adrian Heath was in the crowd assessing the team in a game a few weeks before Bassett left - did anyone see this at the time and know therefore that Bassett was off?
- he mentioned that during the 1994 pre-season Aussie tour (from which Veart and Hodgson signed) that all eyes were back to the UK waiting to see if Spurs were going to be relegated, allowing us to stay up as a result. This seems to have completely disappeared from my memory. I recall them being in trouble, but forgot that a Swindon-esque relegation had been mooted. Surprised this didn't get mentioned more during the time of Tevez - I thought all 1994 mentions were around the Segers issue http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...-shudder-through-white-hart-lane-1422815.html
Anyone read the full thing?
