Ever been out drinking with your mates when you're off alcohol? Personally, I can't stand it, after six or seven most people turn into massive bell ends. All over the place, talking shit at you, grabbing hold of you, wanting to fight people in kebab houses. But when you're pissed yourself, that's a good night out.
Yes, the same mates. Usually a good craic (my mates aren't fighters!). I know what you're getting at but I'm talking about people I know and love since playschool. Bellends, the lot of em, but pills turned them into a different kind of bellend.

Really? Was that ecstasy or cocaine? People on MDMA seem to be happy and huggy. Coke heads are usually unbearable.

Maybe your mates' Es are cut with some other ingredients.

(spoken as an observer not a consumer :) )
Nope, just good old Garys. Didn't turn them nasty or aggressive, more like charlatan wankers. I tried my damnedest to maintain a decent friendship throughout their phase but they lived for the weekend and didn't give a fuck about anything or anybody else. They all readily admit this now they're over it.

If Baxter fails a drug test and gets banned why the hell wouldn't that constitute summary dismissal? It's surely gross misconduct and being banned for 6 months or more means he cannot do what he is paid for and may not be fit enough at the time he can resume playing.

If history teaches anything then standing by a drugs banned individual gets you nothing in return.

Makes you wonder how some of this lot would have gone on back in the days when listening to two way family favorites while eating your Sunday dinner was the high light of your week though dun it.......;)

Two way family favourites sounds a bit risqué there Sanders :o

The club will want to recoup what they can on him. If he has a respectable season we might get £100k for him in a year's time. He'd certainly be of no use in the Championship should we get there.

However, those who think his natural talent is directly in line with his worth as a player are sadly mistaken. I'd sack him tomorrow as the odds of recouping value on or off the pitch look minimal to me. In fact, if he plays a lot next season I don't see us going up.

How must know he's dropped an e, either through a spiked drink or knowingly, surely he should have told the club doctor or someone before taking a chance on a random test coming up, would have been better in the long run proving his innocence

If Baxter isn't good enough for our team after his ban then the manager will really have us rocking and rolling.

Nobody has sympathy for the lad and nor will he expect any.

So if you were caught doing these you'd fight the fines on the grounds that they are stupid rules? Good luck with that.

I think the initial contention was something about choosing which laws to disregard.

Speeding on motorways is one law which about 90% of drivers choose to disregard.

Whether this would be an effective defence in court is a separate matter and, as a law student once said to me wrt encroachment at penalties, an interesting jurisprudential point.

So then we *could* choose to disregard murder?

and if Dad came in from the Pub with a bottle of Tizer, that were epic ............... though I am not sure "epic" was in use in those days

He takes drugs, then lies about it, then gets off scott free.
No deterrent whatsoever.

So he's off the hook really. Seems very lenient, but I'm not complaining. Hopefully, it'll give him a kick up the backside to fulfill the potential from his time at Everton

5 month ban, 3 of which are suspended. I think the ban has been backdated as well so he's free to play from the start of the season.

I wouldn't call that "scott free" but he's been extremely fortunate with the timing. Any more positive tests (and you can bet that he'll be targeted) and he'll be banned for a long time.

So, do we think has has learned to stay clear of recreational drugs ....................

or if he is gonna risk drugs, then performance enhancing would be the way to go ...................

Bert would be quite happy for him to fill himself with drugs on a daily basis if he so desired, providing he was employed as far away from Bramall Lane as possible.
And anyone who supports the notion that it's OK for United players to take illegal drugs is a turd of the highest order.

And you throw accusations about and no one does you!!
Boo would be extremely happy if people would stop wishing our players ill fortune. As stated before perhaps you could resign from here in protest at his continued employment. As frustrating as it is sometimes with players and each persons individual perception of their performance, the last media comment on any off the field activities would be welcomed here.
Good luck Baxter and to all our players in this coming season COYRAWW.

You'd hope that would be a good wake-up call, because Balham Blade says he's surely going to receive plenty of piss tests from now on, so you'd think that would inspire him to live cleaner (unless it was a one-off dabble and he was just unlucky, or he really was spiked, in which case he was very unlucky).

Bert has no idea what that pile of incoherent shite is all about.

Given the usual outcome of our run ins with the FA, I fully expected this to go far more tits up. Fingers crossed we will finally see the best of him this year.
