Blades Fan Hero vs Piggy Alternative

Twitter keeps advising me to follow Michael Vaughan. I keep advising Twitter to fook off.

Me too - I used to follow him on there until he revelled in the events leading up to us failing in the play offs to Huddersfield - more specifically that legal bit beforehand that we never want to discuss again
I think 7,000 of Darren 's 15k plus posts were down to that

There's class and then there's crass

Vaughan is atypical pig in that he is not from sheffield and never goes but wont shut the fuck up about us

To be fair he did go to Silverdale school so his formative years were in Sheffield

He was in the year below me - displayed typical grunter characteristics at an early age, probably.......

Good cricketer, but he is a Cock, can't abide his whining and snuffling. He takes every cheap opportunity to get a dig in at the Blades, confirming a complete lack of class.

I remember seeing him in the director's box at the Lane, during the 2006-07 season. As you say, a typical pig, jumping on the bandwagon to see a Prem game or two......

It's something I've noticed is increasingly true about Wendy fans... .they are as obsessed with us as they are their own team. Perhaps it's because their club is so tediously f***ing dull and boring that they can only muster interest by diverting their attention to SUFC.

I'd prefer we remained aloof about them and rather than spewing bile, we take the approach of the "Old Firm" clubs who simply refer to their rivals in terms like "what happens elsewhere" or "what others do".... never actually naming who they are talking about, but making their disdain clear while focusing only on their own club.

Oooh, ooh, and me.

He's only a few years younger than me, in fact. We were there at the same time. I was also at school with Jessica Ennis.

And me, a fellow Dore boy, but sadly I'm a bit older. :)

Michael Vaughan was in the year above me at Dore Junior but went to Silverdale. I used to play footy in the playground with him using a tennis ball.

Football with a tennis ball , that old classic. Did that a lot myself

I'm not from Dore, I'm a Woodseats lad so I felt a little out of place at Ecgbert's! Cracking school can't complain.

But are you not talking about the club who shall not be named, thus giving them attention?

I saw Piggy Vaughan at the lunch interval at Cardiff on Thursday.
Whilst he was having a few selfies with assorted flotsam, some blade cried out
'Ar da happy with Pigs new Coach?'

Just couldn't resist.

I'll never grow up :)

Best England Captian of my lifetime, and the man whose captaincy pretty much won England the 2005 ashes. We needed a leader who stood up to the ruthless Aussies, was prepared to give them some aggression back, and his arrogance won us that. Utterly focused and driven as a cricketer, and his record as skipper and also as Batsman stands up with the best.

If you want to talk about cricketers acting like cunts, then the two I have found to be complete arrogant arseholes are Gower and Jonathon Agnew. Vaughan from the couple of times I have met him has come across as being a decent bloke.

And when people start sticking the knives in to Vaughan, what would you do if it was roles reversed, and you was a well known Blade and a prominent sporting personality, I know what I would do given the same circumstances and that is dish out loads of to the gruntlets.

Loathsome, intolerable , detestable , repugnant , repulsive , rotten , invidious , ungracious , insufferable , pig - and they are the Vaughn good points.

Here's a thought. He was an excellent cricketer, captain, pundit, snortbeast, knows his stuff etc, etc.

He used to really wind me up with his piggy comments and then the penny finally dropped. He was winding me up, and winding you up!

Would you sooner have these wishy washy folk who don't want to offend anyone. You know, the 'Id love both teams to be in the Premier League, it would be good for Sheffield' sort of crap.

He supports Wendednesdeday lets us all know it and good luck to him. I know I'd be the same if I was remotely good at anything. So hear his comments, have a chuckle to yourself, don't rise to the bait and get on with life.

Good advice and spot on . Suppose they say the same thing about Sean Bean.
