We have many options in attack Adams, Done, Murphy, McNulty,Diego, JCR, Flynn but what team will NA use who he thinks will get us promoted?

Deano?Sharp and A N Other.
Deano?
Bloody bladey bladeness...Id take that.
Exactly the type of player we're missing. Mind you, to me there is no team in SUFC history that wouldn't have benefited from Deano up front.
And played correctly this would yield over 30 goals from this pair.I suspect that even though we need a big, mobile target man, it will be Done and Sharp.
At least there'll be 2 of them.
How would you play them? Generally, if you play a flat 442 against a 451 you risk conceding control of the midfield and not been able to provide good service to the front two, unless you bypass midfield and go long. (Like u-21s last night who, notwithstanding Chaloba's inability to pass the ball to a team-mate and some truly woeful defending, were set up wrong from the start if Southgate wanted to play passing football). And played correctly this would yield over 30 goals from this pair.
Keep your target man on the bench to stir things up late in the game as and when required.

I feel sorry for Flynn, I think he's a good right back or right wing who would walk into most league 1 teams but am inclined to agree he'll only be 2nd or 3rd choice behind Brayford (when he's back), Freeman and Adams and that's assuming no right sided players get brought in. Time will tell...Hopefully he won't be pondering that question because he'll be signing a goal scorer to go alongside Done and those two will be the main default strikers, first names on the team sheet. McNulty and Diego as back up, with Murphy and Adams on the wings. JCR and Flynn out the door, not that I don't rate them, I just don't rate them highly enough to be in a league winning side.![]()
*laughs hysterically*I wont be too concerned if we do not bring another forward in. I think Done, McNulty, Adams, Murphy and (don't laugh) Higdon have enough goals in them to take us up. It is all about how the team is set up and that they are allowed some freedom to express themselves that matters. We need to go into every game, home or away with the confidence to have a go at teams.
We have plenty of quality midfield players to create chances and chip in with a few goals too.
I will be concerned if we don't sign at least one quality CB and would like a new keeper as well. These are the priority IMO.

So would you have one of them dropping into midfield when we don't have the ball or play two big athletes in centre mid and look to hit longer balls down the flanks for the wingers to chase but play them inverted so they cut inside rather than cross from the bye-line?
Yes, towards the end of the season, before Baxter got nicked and when it looked like we'd sign Davies, I thought Done could play either running from deep beyond Davies or up top feeding off Baxter's through balls. Obviously, that won't happen now but I agree about his versatility. As has been said by Dkc, Done is proper quick.
The flexibility this affords us in an offensive sense is massive. In short Done plays the role of up to 4 players. Play Done as a conventional striker as a pair in a 442, as an A C M just behind front man, and also using pace to run it to balls played down the left & right channels or balls played over the top. Everything Blackwell wanted Billy to be for Beattie. Conveniently ignoring this is not what Billy is any good at !!!
So, it shapes up mostly as a 4:4:1:1 but easily switches seamlessly to 4:4:2.
