Had a chat with TC on Saturday at Heeley festival, top bloke.
He sounds optimistic for the new season after a good talk with NA a couple of weeks ago.
Didn't realise he was 65 tho.
Hmmmph I was roped in by our lass to do the car boot still she got rid of some crap. TC was just round the corner from us.

In the presence of such majesty and yet not in the supine position?

Non-Blade Wanker! :)

About that lawn mower I bought off your missus ;)

65 is the new 45, but tell you what, I'd be worried if I had the outlook of some of the younger lads on this Forum at their age;) Some of 'em seem to be old already. Get a life lads, T.C. had one and I'm certain he's still young at heart.

No offence meant BTW:)

I was telling him my 1st game was a 2-0 win v Stoke at BDTBL in 1974,he said that was his best season, missed out on Europe by 1 point, finished 6th in Division 1.

I think it's quite poignant that our greatest post-war achievement was, essentially, failure.

Me and the young up met TC after a night match against Brentford a couple of seasons ago. The young un was only 4, and got a bit tired so I decided to leave 15 minutes to get him home and in to bed. We met TC round the back of the John Street stand and I spotted the ideal photo opportunity. So I stopped TC for a photo and he was happy to oblige. Browninho was not impressed and asked him who he played for, and TC told him the Blades and England, and the mask of suspicion began to drop as Browninho began to look suitably impressed, then Browninho asked him if there anyone he played for, and at this point Browninho didn't like Leeds United because they bite people, TC let Browninho know about the biggest mistake of his career and Browninho ran behind me, told me he didn't like TC and to tell me to tell TC to go away.

I met Currie many years ago at one of his four day football camps they ran during the school holidays. The only time I spoke to him was when I posed for my photograph at the end - he was perfectly pleasant.

On the whole though he was a miserable sod when he was going around. I'm not sure kids are his forte.

First De Juve's family, now TC - anyone else on the list that big Nige has to win over before he can sit down?

Don't listen to this 65 the new 45 cobblers, it's just another way of the government not giving you your pension for another 20 years

Funny I should recount mine and Browninhos brief encounter with TC today as we have followed one meeting with celebrity today with another when we saw Bobby Knutt in Chapeltown Asda

Don't bother with the details Brownie, I'm still not sure what happened on John Street? ;)

I remember once in Handsworth ASDA where both myself and TC were grumbling about opening those little sachets of milk they give you to put in your coffee. I told TC that I had a similar problem in Barnsley the day before. He made some wonderful disparaging comment about Barnsley made me laugh. can't believe he's still about 7 months older than me, after all these years.

Not really. Think of all the young kids TC/Woody etc. amazed who would have gone on to take their kids along and become the Unitedites of the future. We really have had a near-monopoly of stand-out, charismatic players compared to Wendy and their impact on future generations cannot be underestimated.

Where would QPR be if it wasn't for the likes of Stan Bowles (recently diagnosed with dementia), Francis, Marsh etc?

Players like TC have made us what we are. A 'cult' club.

I was at this match!

For the 732nd time, we didn't miss out on Europe by 1 point. They changed the rules meaning even had we won at Birmingham we would not have qualified.
