are we favourite because we are seen as a big club or is it because the bookies see Adkins taking us up, what is your opinion.

Because what we should achieve to what we actually achieve , may now be running together , were as before , they were a long distance apart . The two are now equal . - Adkins

We were 13/2 before Adkins so that's moved things slightly

No, the only reason we were favourites last season was because of our cup success and good finish

We were favourites last season for the same reason we're favourites this - in the lower leagues, bookies will put the shortest odds on whoever is perceived to be the biggest club. Hence Portsmouth being favourites for L2 last season.

True

We were favourites not just for the auto's but for the title before Adkins took the job, now i would suspect Adkins' arrival will have shortened the odds even more.

And that's my point, what makes us favourites is it the name, the fan base, how we play?

Exactly, and every year someone breaks out the 'you never see a broke bookie ' line as if being made favourites is proof we'll go up and then inevitably we fuck it up and then the same thing happens the following Summer.

Because there is a slight chance this league could actually be worse than last season and because we now have a manager with a good track record in this league and will not settle for 2nd best.

The bookies fu**ed up big style last season and given that we haven't yet got rid of much "dead wood" and we haven't yet addressed the very real and startling deficits in the squad; the bookies may be in danger of fu**ing up again this next season !!

The bookies did not fuck it up they got it right as the favourites fucked it up.:)

The teams you would consider as our promotion rivals are being weakened significantly losing their best players. We're yet to lose any of our stars. I don't think Murphy will leave having just had a baby and bought a house in Sheffield. The league should be ours for the taking, but of course it is going to take a lot of hard work and the right incoming transfers

Good point Luke. Blackpool have shed 17, including McMahon and Millwall 18. Wigan's first signings are from Blackpool and Walsall, seems familiar. Not convinced the relegated sides are a big threat. We really should be looking to boss this division.

We could be 1-10 on with one game to go and I'd still not back us lol

I thought our main threat next year was going to be Swindon, but they seemed to have gone into suicide mode since the playoffs. Bury might be the surprise package
