£3million available should Adkins require it I have been told. If accurate that is a clear statement of intent from HRH and co.

Been told that have you? Or did you just copy my Post off Bladesmad?

Come on, which one of you really went for a beer with phipps last night... It can't be both of you!?

Yawwnnnn.....we do seem to have a lot of big gobs who seem happy to share the most discreet information, don't we? Why would anyone reveal this figure in a market that will surely add a couple of noughts to a price once they know we're meant to have money.

Best to keep quiet, or is that impossible?

Good
We want have to pay him owt in compo.

What I have heard is that £2m is immediately available (part of the deal that Adkins said he would need to build the squad before signing on) and what the board already estimates needs spending, which could rise to £3m if that's what is required once the manager has time to assess the squad.

The note could also have said sorry I left so many crap players behind.

Nigel has got a hell of a job on his hands rebuilding .
The easy part is signing players, get rid of the dross is the harder part.
Anything he can achieve in the first season is a bonus to me.

£3 mill is a huge amount.

I dont think we will need that though.

I think the board have said enough is enough & they are sick of league 1 & are prepared to spend their way out.

NA has 1 remit & 1 remit only. Get us out of this fucking league mate.

You wont let go will you ,tell me the dross that Clough signed who you think it will be difficult to get rid of.

I would add Scougall and McGahey to that list as well.
I would take Scougall Freeman ,Coutts and JCR off it. The others could easily be moved on but wait and see how they perform under a new regime first.

Just going on how they performed last season at the lane especially.

Ched wouldn't have had his 30 odd goal season if we stuck to those guidlines
I would rather move players on if they perform badly the previous season rather than keep them on, that's for sure. I would also suspect many more advantages come from doing it this way than disadvantages.

Extremely good point sitters.....after season one of underwhelming everyone he'd have been put on the transfer list and given no chance to prove his value.

If the criteria is that strict, as in you have one season in which to impress, I daren't consider the financial implications when it comes to signing players. There'd be one eye on improving specific positions and one eye on whether a player is delivering on their transfer fee.

Totally off topic. Does anyone ever think there'll come a day when a club offers to pay compensation to us for one of our managers?

Pompey chasing Warnock was about the closest(?)

There's money available and that's all we need to know. It will be interesting to see how he wants to go about it and it will propably make for a summer of quite a few ins and outs, this might sound basic but that's how i see it and i'm very much looking forward to it.

Yes if Adkins gets us up next season.

It's up to the coaches to spot whether or not a player has the capability to go out and play well the following season. I don't think you will find many cases where a player is absolutely hopeless one season, then the complete opposite the next.. more often than not there are little glimpses of ability which is down to the coaches to be able to assess whether that player is able to sustain those glimpses over a full season.
