Interesting stats Leonardo. The most surprising for me is that we've got a higher goals per game ratio this season when it's been so boring.

If we are the we've progressed under Clough. If we aren't. then we haven't.

But as a whole I dont think we are better off player wise, we still have the same numpties in charge, and the fans, well they are still the fans

So nowts really changed, a few good memories, and a few hours wasted being bored

This time last year we thought, Maguire would stay, Coady may well sign permanently. This would have meant we needed a replacement RB for Brayford, perhaps a partner for Maguire and a better option up front. Things didn't pan out like that, but "over a year" is clearly incorrect.

We progressed in his first season, we have been stagnant for over a year now.

We regressed significantly over the summer as we lost our three best players. That was probably underestimated at the time as we hoped the summer signings would turn out better, when in reality they were squad players.

Not a lot could be done from there until January when the squad was strengthened with real quality.

So I can accept that our upward curve wouldn't be smooth, and I'd maintain there was reason to believe matters would improve over another window. The board didn't agree.

Clough couldn't help losing the likes of maguire and coady.

We have a far better squad now in my opinion. We were relegation fodder with that lot and clough has taken us to two cup semi finals and a 5th placed finish whilst building a whole new squad and getting rid of the tripe listed above. I'm sure the next manager will have an easier time taking over than clough did from wier and I'm positive they will give Nigel some credit for that.

I have said this before NC changed things round towards the end of 2013-2014 season just missing out on the playoffs, then with Maguire leaving and the failed attempt to get Brayford when he wanted to get him left NC in no mans land, he failed the team this season by poor choices, his ability to leave players out of games or play them out of position, basically he started to loose his way, if it wasn't for the cup run and some how finishing in the playoffs this would have been a uneventful season. We all expected promotion he failed that and in MHO he failed us.

I think a year of stagnation sounds about right, we have a lot more players to choose from yet the first team is no better than the one at the end of Clough's first season. The squad certainly looks better on paper but is so unbalanced it is untrue the reality is we have bought players with a history of injury or returning from serious injury which is a huge gamble. The gaping holes in the squad at CB meant that others were played out of position until this is rectified the only real improvements will be to the pitch.

The play-offs were luck in my opinion. 71 points doesn't usually get you into the play-offs, we would have finished 9th in the Championship
