"Parkinson could not be contacted yesterday and neither City nor United were willing to comment on developments.

But it is believed that City rebuffed United's approach and would not be prepared to part company with Parkinson unless a financial settlement could be reached with their League One rivals."

From the article.

Key points in bold perhaps? It's all bollocks.
Parkinson could not be contacted? What's up, did they lose signal or something:)

What worries me about this is that Giddings can't afford to tweet tickle tackle, he needs to tweet credible stories/leaks to keep his contact with the club open.

Bet all the Clough out mob are pleased the loonies are picking the next one?

According to the 13.00 sports news Radio Sheffield understands an official approach has been made to Bradford to speak with Parkinson this has been turned down but it is understood there is a release clause in Parkinsons contract if X amount is paid Parkinson can walk

Fekin hope not

It baffles me to think McCabe and the Prince would pay compensation, when a better candidate is available for free.o_O

Hope you're right Pedro.

I wrote earlier that I'm puzzled why our managerial radar seems to be stuck within the walls of the UK? It's astonishing that our ambition stretches to a guy like Parkinson? If we can afford a fullback for well over £1.5 mil, surely we can attract a quality of manager who'll get the supporter's purring with delight? I assume the Prince's influence reaches far and wide, so why not bring in Johnny Foreigner if the best we can come up with is Parkinson? If we'd gone for Adkins I'd at least feel we're making some type of effort, but Bradford's finest? Strewth!

Adkins would cost more even though he's out of work. He'd command a few extra grand a week which over a 3 year deal would cancel out the compo paid. That said we should be willing to pay what it takes to get the best man available.

D78 on BM is catagorical we will not be getting Parkinson. Respected ITK poster but time will tell.

I'm still in the car park with one shoe off since I heard the rumour

I'm guessing its Jim Phipps, McCabe family, Prince (maybe) and maybe Mal Brannigan that are currently on the search for a new manager. I highly doubt anyone else in the club including the playing staff have a clue who is going to be the next manager. Why would any of them release the identity of the person they are looking to hire to people that are obviously going to leak the information.

All this ITK business really annoys me.........if I was a board member and I knew who United's next manager could potentially be there's no chance I would leak that information to anybody in fear my position could be under threat.

Hope I am proved wrong because if Parkinson is employed I will be joining you in the carpark! :)

Smoke and mirrors R123 smoke and mirrors, agents leak what they think will help their cause it's nowt to do with our directors

The final piece of evidence that this board have no idea how to run a football club. I cannot believe of all the options they genuinely believe that Phil fecking Parkinson is the best option.

Well I can tell you now, that's me done going to Blades for a good while. Having watched Bradford numerous times this season (living and working in Bradford means I hear all the moans about him too) I can assure the football will get much much worse. I expect James Hanson to follow him, meaning we will become a turgid long-ball clogger side once again. I can't make myself drive over an hour to watch that every week. Awful decision.

I don't dislike Parkinson, but he's a cup specialist with no experience of league 1 promotion. Sound familiar?

Plus his Bradford team were giant hoofers whenever I saw them. Surely we want a manager willing to build on Clough's squad, not tear it up?
