He's over achieved everywhere he's been. A serial success story. Not a nice man, but nor was Warnock. A big personality. Can certainly build & motivate a team. Why not?

Doubt even the prince has the sort of money to fund his appointment. Imagine the pie bill at the lane...

He has to be considered though seriously. Can't deny the man has a fantastic record and plays exciting attacking football.

.Too confrontational. It seems like the board are looking for more of a yes-man. They've tried a manager who was his own man, but that didn't work.

Hmmm. By that analysis, can we rule out anyone called Nigel too?

Can't deny his results but FFS he's a fat, slobby, gobshite. I would be truly embarrassed to see his blubbery carcass in our dugout. Continually hoiking his trousers up as his groaning, overworked belt slithers down his fat arse. But he has done at cracking job at toy town.

He keeps winning & getting promotions. What do you want?

'blubbery carcass'
Brilliant!

steve evans on a 1 year deal to do the work and get us up then beg clough to come back thats my ideal situation
I went along with this idea that Clough would help us stabilise in the Championship, playing his cautious brand of football. But many promoted teams have gone on to push for the Premiership soon after. Why should we settle for that, if we were promoted?

He's done it with rovrum - zero expectation and small club. We need someone who knows how to do it under the weight of expectation. There are candidates out there who have that on their CV.

And he is a revolting bucket of sick.

And by the way, all the cracks about the pie bill.......

Ok, we don't want a winner if he's fat. Fair enough.
It's not that I'm fattest ( Steve wins that hands down), I recognise that he has done a fantastic job in the past. I just think he's an odious chap that I'm not particularly fond of. It's just my opinion for what it's worth - which in the grand scheme, is the sum total of fuck all!

Remember. Evans is managing in a league higher than us. All he needs to do is finish 4th from bottom and his job is safe. If he came to the Blades, he'd need to finish in the top two or go up via the play offs to keep his job. He'd be daft coming here.

Actually, an ultimatum of "promotion in the first season or the sack" would put off many potential managers.

I think he is perfectly suited to the small club / underdog with an up and at em type approach. I'm not saying that he doesn't deserve a crack at a 'bigger club'. I just don't like him!!! But as I am not involved in the selection and criteria of the new manager, it doesn't matter.

I think that depends on the resources made available to achieve that goal.

Oh, and Real Madrid get way with a similar policy. :)

No expectation at crawley when they were favourites to go up after spending big?

No expectations at Rotherham to get out of lg2?

No expectation for a playoff final?

Give over man. Don't let his belly get in the way of his achievements. Not saying he's my first choice but this is exactly where we've gone wrong in the last by not looking at the men who've achieved what we're aiming for

Ok, my question was "why not?" & you have answered. He seems to tick a lot of boxes & is right under our nose. But despite being a winner he is fat & can be controversial. Let's go for Phil Parkinson then.

Unless you can think of anybody better?

Er, no, let's not go for Phil Parkinson. He's far too bloody thin for fucks sake!!
