What do you think about match?

We should have too much for them. TK being fit would make me confident. But our defence could lose us the game without him.

id say a nice comfortable 2-0 flynn and baxter getting the goals against an oldham side on bad form

Well they've beaten Rochdale 3-0 and drawn with Bristol City 1-1 in their last four games. Seem like a Jekyll and Hyde team.

Also having nothing to play for can be either liberating or demotivating. Let's see how they take to it.

Without Bob, and probably TK, the back four is going to be very makeshift. Add in tiredness after the two derby games, and it's far from straightforward. Could be another high-scoring lottery of a game. Can't see how we can try to shut up shop and/or play on the counter. We tried this against Walsall and really should have lost. We don't have anything like the solidity.

If we do take it to them then we should have too much but I wonder if that's against Clough's instincts: he seems to prefer to try for control.

How are Davies and Done going to fit into the team? McEveley and Brayford at CH with Bashambauer in midfield?

All sorts of questions.

It'll be an interesting game.

Kazerreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I said six goals for last game and it ended up with 5 but only 3 of them for us. A few signs of confidence but don't be surprised if Nige mixes the squad up, he's expressed concern about getting Done and Davies playing in the same team so don't be surprised if Done is on the bench with McNulty for tomorrow.

Would take a draw but think we might come a cropper, depends on the team selection and if Nige goes there "not to lose". A draw tomorrow and 3 points against Yeovil will do!

Would take 4 from 6 at this point but, from the sounds of Roy's view from, this lot could be there for the taking. Go for the win, keep the confidence rolling.

7 games undefeated away from home a draws better than a defeat. us to snatch it 1-0 another penalty they going our way lately

At the Lane they gave one of the more impressive performances from visiting sides. They may have little left to play for except pride so, if they motivation is there for them, I don't think this will be a walk in the park for us. Injury doubts about Kennedy, Murphy and Harris won't help and could leave us weak on the left. Our midfield has to turn up today. 4 points from this and Yeovil required to keep us on track according to NC.

Same result as Tuesday, roller coaster 3-2 win for the Mighty Blades.

Back 4 will change again with Harris groin twinge. Expect the back 4 to be

Bray - Bash - McEv - Freeman

Expect Murph won't play either so midfield maybe same as last time. Doyle on bench again til Tuesday if that card excuse is correct.

Would be a good game to start McNuts and keep Done fresh for the run in. Done will be critical for our play off hopes. He makes stuff happen.

1-1

I wouldn't be surprised to see Alcock get a few starts until Harris and Kennedy are fit.

Howard
Alcock Brayford McEverley Freeman
Flynn Basham Coutts Scougall Done
Davies

If Murphy is fit then Done in front of Scougall.

I can see a 1-1 - the sun is out here in Oldham but the wind's a bit fierce off the moors.
Had a great train journey through the wilds of West Yorkshire - Sowerby Bridge, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden. Beautiful rugged scenery.

Sitting on a train from London to Manchester all mellow and full of peace and love after a wonderful Gong gathering in Camden last night to send Daevid Allen off to his final resting place on the luminous green planet.

Erm, so, I'm going for a Summer of Love game with no fouls at all, and United to win 1-0 when Oldham do the right thing and allow us to score in injury time because we deserve it on merit. Meanwhile the fans will present each other with flowers and start the afternoon with a group hug. Ma'an.

Although what I really want is the usual two red cards at Oldham, a ding dong battle that United win 4-3, Motorhead played at half time, several pitch invasions, and some good old fashioned scrapping on the terraces.

Did I hear somewhere that J Mc won't be risked for a full game so Bash may very well be in the back 4.

I find it funny that almost everyone goes on about how weak we are without TK, we are useless without TK, is this the same TK that plays one in every seven games I wonder. The team seem to cope ok without him for the other six games, He isn't fit for. What more do the team have to do to shut the knockers up, maybe shitting gold coins might do it.
TK is not the messiah and we can and have kept clean sheets without him.........

What's this? Landscape poetry? Wordsworth as a Blades fan. Or better, Ted Hughes - but only if it's a really muddy pitch.

2-0 to the blades done and Davies, could be more let's see how we play when we are in the lead, defend it and we could be in trouble.

TK is a specialist centre half, and for me it shows. Also it enables Bash to move into midfield, which means Coutts can play his game, which means etc etc

We can *survive* without TK, but, daft as it sound given his age and experience, he makes the team click into place. As would any other even half decent specialist.

My two pennorth.

Yes he is a decent player, Young but alas never fit. Maybe if he stays fit for more than one game I could see what all the hype is about. But to say we are rubbish without him, really?, with how often he plays I would say we have been ok without him and with him it's a bonus, but appearances are few and far between, god help him and his fitness levels a few years down the line.

It's not really hype. It's not that he's the new Bobby Moore or anything like that, just that he's a pretty good specialist centre half and him being in there has a domino effect releasing other players to do the jobs they are good at.

So it's.not the job he does, though that's pretty good, more the jobs him being in the team releases other people to do.

I'd be interested in our stats when he's a starter. I bet they're *much* better than when he's not.

I wonder...

Smallest front 6 ever perhaps: Flynn, Holt, Reed, Doyle, Murphy, McNulty.

Watch out at set pieces though!!

Glad to see Reed back.

What's this? Landscape poetry? Wordsworth as a Blades fan. Or better, Ted Hughes - but only if it's a really muddy pitch.

Two blades, brown, rusting,
stood in the corner of a barn.
Sharpness tempered by time.
Old men, forged in fire,
carrying the scars of life long lived
but now lifeless, devoid of purpose,
fading back to the ground,
the Earth.
Like Ian Rush at Bramall Lane.

Will take the point, especially given other results.

Was TK off injured do we know?
