Thought basham played brilliantly today in the second half.
Got a great engine and just kept going. If his heading was a bit better he could have scored and got an assist but his directness.
him being a big strong runner is something we don't particularly have in midfield so he is a good option when chasing a game and also when driving at teams in away games.
Really enjoyed watching him x

Proper 50p head - but he was brilliant in midfield today. Brilliant

We could've done with a solid CB in the January window, i thought that's all we lacked as i think Basham has so much to offer in midfield, he would help to change our formation if we need to go into a flat 4-4-2.

However good he's been at centre half I think his long term future lies in midfield once we sign someone. Very good signing.
We need him to cover CB but whilst most have been calling for him to be a CB, Some have called for him to be CM and today illustrates the point with his drive going forward.

Get maguire in on loan and shit bash into doyles place

When he was in midfield before he was always very good at getting in scoring positions, not seen many more clumsy in front of goal though so that's a point to work on.

Yes after the first couple of months I thought he was better suited at centre back.
Maybe it's time for him to move in midfield and give Kennedy a chance.
I think he is good at centre back as well x

Do you not think he came in originally to fill the gap of coady leaving last season? X

S60 unitedite , i think that was the intention and the guy who was right all along about Basham was Fulwood Blade. I do like him at CH , but his position next season may well be midfield replacing Doyle , He didn't settle in straight away with his mrs just having a baby . The bloke gets better every game imo.

Ye I remember him saying that after a game on the radio early in the season
I just think him filling doyles position would just be a waste of his talent of being able to play ahead of the ball which from my own experience of football is quite hard to do x

You're a season too late with this post. Bash would replace Doyle, different sort of player. Harry's hardly played all season and Kennedy was great today... So as you were
Harry is better than mceveley and bash is better than Doyle. Simples really

Harry doesn't want to play for us... So it's like talking about an ex who's moved on...

Bash in doyles role? Didn't he struggle with this at the start of the season? He wouldn't displace Doyle at the moment. Doyle was on a different level today

Doyle is overrated. And like porter, Collins too they're a big reason we're still in this league. Fair point about Harry but their are better centre backs out there than what we currently have

Knockoff , we have what we have got until the end of the season , so if we succeed in promotion , all deserve credit , and will have played there part . Doyle is Doyle and at the moment we need him. He is either over rated or under rated . At the moment its the latter for me imo.

Not the case. The loan window is there to improve the team. Not knocking Doyle but if he was to move on where do you think he'd end up?

Not knocking Doyle ? Ok then.
Suggesting we could do better. Yeah I'm knocking him. Jesus stop being so uptight.

Answer the question then. Who would sign Doyle if he was available.

Nothing wrong with wanting to strengthen the team.

Any league 1 side, and if he was a few years younger a few in the championship, hence why he spent his career there. The reason to replace isn't his ability, rather his age. We need Doyle 6-8 years younger.

That was the intention for Wallace I think. Should have just signed Coady.
Ye looking at it simply we should have got coady but he might not have wanted to come back he has gone to a club in a higher league even though I couldn't comprehend choosing another team but our opinions might be a little bias haha x

Anyone who wanted a hard tackling ,hard working , mobile , experienced player capable of dragging 10 men back into a game they were losing 2-0 I suppose.

I think he'd have come, he loved it here by all accounts. From what I can see Liverpool asked for big money, Clough said no way and bought others, then at the end of the window Liverpool realised they wouldn't get that so sold him cheap. Think we should have been more patient and waited for the price to drop, confident we'd be at least two positions higher if we had, most influential of the trio we lost and was only getting better.

A league one side yes. But not one fighting for promotion.6-8 years ago where was Doyle? Wrong end of championship involved in relegation battles. All our better players have gone back up the leagues, he hasn't. I like him and love how he loves the club but taking off the red and white specs, if he was to leave it'd be a lower lg1 or lg2 club
