I'll be calling for Warnock's head if we score less than 7 goals... ;)

What a performance by them last night!

Will be happy with 4-0 to them, if they play like that again!

it is not gonna be a nice game to watch, lets just hope we have a win at west ham to cushion the blow (otherwise we could be looking at a run of 5 defeats on the bounce going into the charlton game).

I say we go for the 10 0 0 formation.

Pack the goal line with defenders and sit there for 90mins. :D

Mind you im guessing it will be the return of the amazing 4 5 1 formation that works so well for us.

i think we play 10-0-0 sometimes anyway:D
with it being a third game in a week for them, i can't see it being a full team.
so hopefully somehow we can scrape a draw, just remember not to buy any roma player, especially that totti;)

Some Blade you are! What happened to being there through thick and thin?
What you gonna do about it? Sue me? Plus I can't even get the day off and I probably wouldn't get there in time, the M62 is a nightmare at rush hour. Plus it'll help me save a bit of £.

fair point, i'd love to have gone, and for someone who had a better chance of going than me to say that makes me wonder why people bother. you go to support your team, not to watch them win.

Yeah.. that's more like it.

Nothing to do with the fact that you can't bear to see us lose then - as you've originally told others?
Well there's no point against teams like Chelsea, Liverpool et al, the games are just so boring and suck the fun out your day. Call me a part timer, unloyal, traitor or whatever you want, but that's how I feel.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

If you want to watch a team who wins all the time (like we did last season, when you chose to get your first season ticket) you're supporting the wrong team in Sheffield United.

You don't go to a football match to watch your team win, you go to watch them play the game. If they win - it's a bonus.

So why bother at all? Why call yourself a "fan" if the games are "boring and suck the fun out of your day". Teams are going to win, lose and draw several times throughout the season.

You know I work Saturdays, and to try and kickstart a decent career I have to make that sacrifice. I would LOVE to attend week in, week out as I used to. You should think yourself lucky that you have the opportunity to go to these games. If you don't want to waste your money or your time then fine - but don't make comments like you have - "I'm glad I'm not going" - there are people within just this messageboard who would love to have the opportunity to go, as you have had. We all miss the odd game due to one thing or another - I notice though you didn't miss many games last season when it was all positive - but now it's fighting tooth and nail you're hardly there.

If games against the big clubs are boring - why did we bother against Liverpool & Arsenal at home? We have got as much chance against Manchester United as the other 18 teams in this league.

If there's "no point against teams like Chelsea, Liverpool et al" then there's no point against any team at all

I know the real reason... he just doesn't want to buy Foxy a birthday pint :D

It's against the top 4 away that's annoying, especially when you fork out so much money (£80 against Chelsea is just taking the piss). At least in the fizzy pop league it's possible for someone rock bottom to go beat the runaway leaders (a'la Bradford at Norwich a few years ago).

The only reason why I haven't been to every game this year is because I was unwell for Fulham, overslept badly for Everton, couldn't go to Watford as I used up all my holiday entitlement and there's absolutely NO WAY I could have got to Watford in time, and I've already explained why I'm not going to ManU.

As for the top 4 at home, that's an entirely different matter altogether.

I know we're not going to win every game, but it's just the manner we lose to the top 4 that just irks me. How can you be paying to watch United "play" at these grounds when it's just Chelsea who "play" (boringly)?

Because that's football? There'll be the odd day when we'll catch a team out and we will win.

Would you really want to miss that?

Why did the Roma fans travel all that way to see their team get spanked last night?

Because they love their club and want to watch them play.

You wanna have a go at watching them in some old shed getting battered by a team who dreams of having a friendly with Chelsea ;)
because thats the general experience in being a blades fan :)

Roma are one of the top clubs in Italy, we're not one of the top clubs in England.

There may be the odd day when we catch someone out like Spurs or Everton or some other stupid midfield team and win, or maybye one of the top 4 at home (which we did indeed do against Arsenal), but NEVER away at the top 4, not a club like us.

Yeah you have a point it is a rip off and with our awful away tactics against teams like chelsea etc. Its not worth forking out the money going all that way just to feel shit on the way home. Although true you support your team win lose or draw though. Dont know why everyone is laying into 7UpJordan he has a choice in whether he wants to go or not and by not going he isnt supporting united any less.

Go and support someone else then :)

Because I have an undying and unfounded optimism that someday my team will make me the happiest football fan on this lovely green earth which is why I unquestioningly follow them.

My dear grandmother was talking about United earlier in the car... she was a few weeks old when United were last in a cup final. She knows we're shit, has accepted it and given years of her life over to travelling around the country and up and down the leagues watching United. Her sons have done the same and her grandsons and granddaughter are in the process.

You want instant success that we just aren't going to get. Do what you like with staying away from some matches. But don't ever think it's going to get any different.

You either get aggrieved or accept it and get on with being a fan.

I think people who have been going to matches for years are baffled by his first reason for not going.

I don't expect instant success, I just don't think there's any point going to Chelsea or Liverpool or ManU considering the financial damage it does to you.

when you say, are you refering to the blades against arsenal earlier on in the season, because we caught them out then:)

But that wasn't your original reason was it? West Ham cost the same amount as tickets for Anfield at £32. Wigan was only £2 cheaper. Bolton is only £3 cheaper than the cheapest Old Trafford ticket.

It was because you said we weren't going to win.

I think maybe Jonny has Italian blood in him... don't bother with that war lads, we're going to lose anyway :D

Surrender!

I remember when a point away at Chester was considered a great triumph.

People have always said what Jonny is saying.

Their choice in the end.

But when you look at how our crowds have gone up last year and this It's obvious we have some fickle people who will fall by the wayside as soon as it starts to get tough.

So you reckon West Ham thought that too on Saturday?
Firstly, West Ham are not us, secondly, Arsenal aren't that good anymore.

I've got no problem with it, I was expecting it TBH, I'm entitled to my opinion at the end of the day and it's my choice.
