just seen derby's two footed corner challenge on yt,coutts got both after three attempts, seems pretty good to me

I just can't get exited about these as I know naff all about Coutts and Freeman is average. Release the beard!

Well done Nigel and the board.
These two strengthen the squad..just hope Coutts is fit enough for the remainder of the season to help push us on into that elusive play-off final win!...we'll have reyt side next year if not ;D

p.s-Be nice to see a fit Wallace and Coutts together in the middle...a bit more power eh?

As much as Brayford would ignite our season and he is definitely what we need to pick the home fans up after some pretty dull uninspiring league matches. I cannot help but feel all the attention around Brayford may be some kind of tactic by Clough to get on with other business under the radar whilst all our attention is on this one big signing that I cannot for the life of me see happening!

We are not going to pay over a million pounds for anyone whilst in league 1 are we? We have never been that kind of club...
We also cannot have stumbled across one of the only football players willing to drop in WAGES and LEAGUE whilst you would have thought being chased by champ clubs through the luck of getting him on loan.

However I FLIPPIN HOPE I'M WRONG

You are wrong.
The Beard is coming home.

Two very good signings,Coutts being marginly the better of the two. What we have here is two players who certainly improve on what we have and this is what Clough has been saying all along,i'm glad he has finally stuck to that instead of the squad filling he did at the start of the season.

Slade says the Blades' persistent interest - which is believed to have seen them make as many as six bids for their former loan star - has now reached an 'acceptable level financially'.

Bloody fax machine sending documents multiple times

Was talking to a Preston fan after the last game, and he was gutted that Coutts was linked to us, said he was awesome. Spoke to a Derby fan and he said, although injured, no way would he go anywhere below mid Championship level.

Yes, the Preston view seems unanimous. They'd like COG very much as well. Pity we can't compete with the likes of PNE for players.

Not seen much of Coutts, but from what I hear, I hope he's coming to stiffen our central midfield rather than playing a bit-part out wide. The Beard, on the other hand, will stiffen the fans!

Does this mean we've given up on Wallace ever getting fit?

I wouldn't say that mate, what i would say is the thought of Wallace,Coutts and Reed in midfield has certainly got masses of potential to be a top quality Championship midfield.Things are finally looking up,although i do conceed it's 6 months too late for the auto's,but i'm not writing us of just yet for promotion.

Shame to see Coutts leave, and no way is he a League One player - although, I guess that's the idea when you're trying to get out of it.

A fair few of our players have said in interviews that he was the most technically gifted member of the squad. This certainly backs that up.

He injured himself terribly when Clough was still in charge and has been fighting his way back to fitness ever since. He wasn't available for selection again until December, so it was something like 14 months out.

I think his biggest issue is that he's not really found his preferred position yet. He's an excellent dribbler, got a brilliant engine, can put a tackle in and is decent in link-up play. Clough played him out wide although I really think he's much better in the centre. He's not good enough at crossing to be played on the flank.

Having said that, he looked good when played out wide whenever he was paired with our right-back at the time, who made him look excellent down the right. What was his name? John something. You should take a look at him.

EDIT: just seen someone beat me to the vid, apologies...

Welcome to Coutts and welcome back Freeman, you join us in exciting times.

I can't really get myself jazzed about either of these to be honest.

I'll give any new player my support, of course, but I'm completely underwhelmed by Coutts.
Given that we've only scored 30 league goals all season, if we needed yet another midfielder it would have nice if they had a proven track record of knowing where the onion bag actually is.
One goal every 26 goals isn't what is required FFS.

" You join us in exciting times". I must savour that, is this really SUFC?

We are 18 points behind auto promotion, but so what??!! we are on our way back??!!

What will we say when we sign a striker or two??!!
