Does nowt, adds nowt and gives nowt to the cause. Quality? Where is it? The bloke has scored goals in giraffe polo leagues such as SPL. Apparently though he needs time to get fit. Fuck me, I recon at 43 and 16 stone I could have been match fit before Higdon.

For all of you kicking seven bells out of Porter, at least he tried. I am not saying his was the answer to any of our prayers but I would rather have a bloke giving 100% and scoring the odd goal than some twat swanning about adding nothing and giving nothing to the cause. Better still I would rather have neither of them up front but as our Board don't seem to have deep enough pockets to snare anyone (we tried but we missed being the saying of the month at a guess) don't anyone give me the shit that Higdon needs more time. He is awful and his attitude stinks.

Both crap. Both signed by Clough (Porter @ Derby). Enough said.

Not really fair to say Porter is a Clough signing although quite why he re-signed him to not play him is beyond me. Why you would buy a lump like Higdon in to replace him further makes me wonder.

I was laughed at when I said, top couple of teams aside, the Dutch league was no better than the SPL. If Higdon can score 17 goals in that league, so can I.

At least we have our scapegoat,eh..

Amazing that some 'fans' favourites' are immune from the abuse Higdon gets even when they have been worse performers so far this season(e.g. Scougill)

Yesterday, when Higdon came on,we were much more of a goal threat as opposed to no goal threat when McNulty was on the pitch (probably the worse performance from a forward this season for us). Higdon held the ball up,won a couple of headers, should have scored and linked play. More in about 20 minutes than MM did.

He is not as bad as some make out(he's isn't the answer to our forward problems thou) but some are now insisted on abusing him and mocking him when he is on the pitch (probably the same fans that moan when NC says MM hasn't played well. Hypocrites ?)

In hindsight, and bearing in mind the two goals he scored when at MKD earlier in the season, maybe Higdon should have started. Imagine the uproar if he did!

I really hope O'Grady signs along with a strong central midfield player(unless Basham is going to play they) as McNulty is still developing ans it may be a another season before we see the best of him. As for Higdon,he is better than Porter so for me he is a useful squad player to have

Odd because if he is the scapegoat what the fuck has Porter been all this time? The OP was he is worse than Porter, I get the feeling you missed the point to vent your spleen.

Nope, the opening post is a rant about Higdon and says he is worse than Porter. I have disagreed and accused some fans of their usually trick of isolating a player and constantly berating him as they have done with previous players

If fans cannot see that the real issue isn't Higdon, they are not looking at the whole picture.

Everytime a player puts on a shirt for us,they should be backed (as long as they give 100%) then let the manager decide about how well they are performing

Higdon can certainly finish. But I suspect Clough vastly misjudged his mobility and strength.

I guess we were casting around for leftovers after CoG went to Brighton.
This, Higdon is a finisher but with awful mobility. He's so misplaced in the current setup it's untrue, and looks a poor signing.

Porter is downright shit in every aspect.

2 poor signings by Clough that either reflect piss poor judgement, us not having a pot to piss in, or both.

Why are we reduced to this? Close that fucking academy and everything that's making sure this relative giant can't compete with clubs a fraction of our size.

Higdon isn't mobile enough to play the lone forward, he needs another striker alongside him, we can all see that but still play 4-5-1.

We were spoilt when we had Evans, who would have scored 40 if he had played a while season before his trial.

Don't call me a divvy,.but I think clough was lining higdon up to start at spurs.....

We will find out when the teams named,.but is he hinting at inexperience when he had a go at mcnulty yesterday,.to justify a more experienced player....

You can call me a divvy if you like,.cause its a silly suggestion, isn't it?

Clough having a go at Mcnulty is getting a bit tiresome now too.

Think we might be back to Baxter.

For a bloke who I believe has a decent footballing brain in his head and usually talks sense this is not you at your best. Porter has scored goals that show he is a good finisher. Higdon has done no more than Porter in the finishing department as his record shows but his attitude seems to stink the place out.

I honestly believe it mate. I can't for the life of it understand what you see in him, and I've been consistent with that.

If we filled our team with players of this quality we'd be in the 4th division in no time. There's a reason he's still here, sadly. That's much more obvious than the incredibly silly decision to extend his contract.

Higdon is not the reason behind our poor league form, as he has hardly played. He is certainly not the answer in terms of a striker, but I dont see the point in singling him out. I blame having a shit choice of strikers on the board and manager, not the strikers we do have. They are limited by their ability. I am sure they would choose to be better if they could.

Think the abuse is harsh on Higdon, he's being sued out of position as a lone striker and needs someone up top with him to hold up and lay the ball off to. I seem to remember him playing really well one game when he was brought on alongside McNulty up top. I think we'd need to play that again or at least a false 9 to see the best of Higdon so he can hold it up and lay it off.

If Higdon can't play one up top, and knowing that this is the formation he always uses, why on earth did Clough sign him then?

To be fair to Higdon , you cant be sat on your arse on the bench all the time , then come on and change a game , without having much game time , behind you already. We also don't seem , to be able to play to his strengths .

Higdon and Wallace for different reasons have not hit the ground running , which has caused Mr Clough a major headache . The crux is , we seem not to be sorting out a solution .

The players who would overcome our problems , who are not coming to the lane , is down to one thing , and thats money , or in our case a lack of it.

Higdon has played 4 league games since October, and not started all of those. No room for him because of the need for all of these surplus bodies in midfield.

On a day when McNulty was crying out for some support, Clough took him off and brought on Higdon, who also needs support.

Meanwhile, Scougall got a half and did nothing. Again. Then Reed got a half and did nothing.

That's your problem right there.

Porter is utter shite too.

Can't agree with that pal, he had one shot on goal that missed by inches, he passed more, tackled more. I agree about Scougall, he needs to be dropped for the time being, Che Adams offered more in 10 minutes than Scougall for 45.

Let's say that's the case why the fuck do you sign someone who is equally shit as the shit we already have. Happen to thinknow Porter isn't as bad as some would have you told but that's just an opinion.

I always thought you bought better players to get better results.

Mind you if we accidentally tripped over a good striker he would be sold in the next transfer window. Seems to be McTightwads philosophy.

Not that you think Porter is shite, but you think Higdon is any better.
