And it's not a massive overreaction.
On the 31st January when we sign a workmanlike, non forward going right back on loan and another non league 18 year old but miss out on our chief targets (of course) whilst falling out of touch with the 6th placed club we can look back on the clubs excellent planning and blatant lies again.
Our targets if they existed and if we had some money would have been in place on the 3rd of this month so they were all settled in and available for selection in for what was on paper a tricky game against Preston.

The fact that they are willing to send our incapable team out against the best teams in this division during this month whilst preaching that there's still two weeks of the transfer window left tells you all you need to know.
Nobody of any substance is coming in.

Like always when we lose a game , there is a massive overreaction . However it is how we are losing which perhaps requires looking at , and we all know that since the beginning of the season we need a out and out goal scorer.

Sorry but McNuts is just not experienced enough to carry this responsibility on his shoulders. He needs help.

COG ( if we get him back ) is someone who drifts on to the wing and although would be a great asset is not the full answer.

Goals win games and half way through the season , we still have nobody , who can hit the back of the net , on a regular basis , and take advantage of the chances we create.

Yes - stating the obvious , but Mr Clough has to resolve this issue or we will miss the play offs.

The cup run as masked the problem , but is a now or never scenario to sort it in the JTW.

Automatic is out of the question , never mind whatever spin , anybody puts on it . Why because we aint good enough , due to either no investment in the right calibre of players , or the players already in the squad , not being maximised by a touch of final quality.

2 clubs out of 4 will be automatically promoted . If we do make the playoffs , ( and what you see , is what we will get to the end of the season in tactics , formation , and players ) , we may be ok over 2 legs , but one off in the final , we could struggle big time .

We cannot afford both financially and moving forward to change manager , at this moment in time , and let us all not be deluded and mislead , we have no game changing money to buy the right calibre of players in numbers . i.e. 3 or 4.

We have to remain positive , but if we dont make promotion , it will NOT be a successful season and a massive failure. Let us have the post mortem then , and the conclusion may be that Mr Clough is not as good as some of us pro Mr Clough , thought he was.

Most of the time (in my opinion) judge talks shit, but i'll give him credit, he's pretty much bang on the money with his post above.

Judge has said since pre season that the squad was not good enough and predicted that we would not spend much to improve it. Thus far he has been right on both counts.

The season is far from over, just over halfway in if you check. Admittedly were way off the pace right now and it's taken us far too long to get a settled side.

In the last two league games we've played two of the top sides, against Preston we looked very impressive. Not sure about yesterday, but I heard on the radio that we were less than impressive going forward. For me that and the cup runs sums up our season. Just like Southampton followed by Walsall at home did as well. It's a lack of consistency.

Not sure whether yesterday's result can really be the trigger for you to claim some sort of victory (although I'm not sure exactly what the victory is to be honest), but each to their own.

This forum becomes quite unbearable at times, particularly when we lose, insults being thrown around and people attempting to claim they've got one up on someone else rather than having a reasoned debate about the side.

After all the shit they have endured and the lack of investment in that club we are only 7 points above them at the half way stage of the season. A team in 18th position looking over their shoulder, desperately, at the teams bow them. They have scored only 3 goals fewer than us in this campaign and are only two wins and a draw behind us. That's some perspective on where we are at this stage of the season.

Case for the Defence
There are 5 teams in the league that have conceded fewer goals than us. Fucking Fleetwood is one of them!
If our chief tactic is to lock out teams then, surely we should have the best defensive record in the division? The majority of those teams are above us - only Fleetwood below. That suggests we have enough resilience to scrape into the play offs - However;

Attack, Attack, Attack
We are 15th in terms of goals scored.
15th is below half way
15th in this fucking shite of a division!
That isn't down to bad luck - it's down to poss poor recruitment at the sharp end of the pitch and a far too negative approach, especially in the first half, of games against the less able teams in this league.

Don't Panic
Half way through the season with plenty of points to play for. Yep, same as the rest of them - and at this stage we are not even in the fucking play off places. IN THIS SHIT LEAGUE!
Are we scoring more goals?
Are we creating more chances
How often do we score more than one goal in a game where we get on the score sheet?
What's changed recently to alter that stat? McNuts getting well deserved game time? Well he can't do it all on his tod and is it reasonable for him to be singled out to take all the criticism for the teams performance on his shoulders?

What's Going To Change?
If anything significant was going to happen it should have happened by now. 15 days into the transfer window and no new faces in positions to alter the outcome of this season. Oh, hang on a moment - no fucking new faces at all. Did the JTW come as a complete surprise? Not according to other teams in and around us, and much further ahead of us, it didn't.

We are waiting on quality! Is the statement. Well… here's the rub - They are not fucking waiting on us!

Patience will Pay Off?
So, we get to the end of January and, I'll be generous here, we land COG. We leave it till late in the day as Brighton need to get in a replacement and, let's face it, with only Swindon in the league left in Jan, he would be cup tied for most of the month anyway.
COG comes into the team and replaces McNuts who sits on the bench. The tactics remain the same from Feb onwards and all of a sudden we start banging goals in left right and centre and storm up the league to ultimate glory - well that's the hope, anyway.
