A nice trip to Macclesfield ahead tonight, for our U21 cup tie v Stoke City. My first view of Che Adams, and Kieran Wallace hopefully, plus 75 mins planned for Cuvelier, and even the chance of a sighting of the rarely seen Chris Porter, and Neil Collins! Sad as I am, I am quite looking forward to it!, apart from the Porter/Collins bit.

Is that a record for double-barreled surnames in one game?
Nice to see ex-FA Chief Graham Kelly getting a run out - wondered what happened to him...

Finished 0-0, going on to extra time.

Stoke down to 9-men, had one sent off earlier, now one has limped off with no subs left.

Now the Blades are down to 10, as Otis Khan goes off injured.

On to pens.

Stoke City win on penalties.

Is that a record for double-barreled surnames in one game?

As more and more couples take the surnames of both parties into their married name (rather than just taking the man's surname) it is a record which will be repeatedly broken many times in the future.

Look forward to the triple and quadrupled barrelled names which will follow in future generations....

Was impressed with Che Adams, he was direct, but knew when to come back inside, and play the simple pass, very promising. Kieran Wallace had a shaky first half, but was much better after that, probably as he didn`t have as much defending to do, with Stoke down to 10. Better going forward for sure. Cuvelier was really bright early on, before the inevitable fade, played 70 mins. Reed was superb, wasted one pass all night. Like the first team found it hard to create chances, McDonagh blazed over from 3 yards in the first half, our clearest chance, after a slick move, involving Reed, and Cuvelier.
