Not to disheartened by the performance that iv jus seen from the cheap seats (tv). But we didn't look good going forward either. De girolamo 'sort of' showed his potential but my word, Louis Reed will be sold this time next year!

Did some of that at the weekend and I tell you what, it was a damn sight more entertaining than that performance was.It was like watching paint dry.
Agree, two terrible overhit passes to the right that even Billy Whizz couldnt reach!Louis Reed will be sold? He was dire tonight. Along with all of them except Basham and Turner.

Nobody more disappointed in his performance than Louis......still learning
That's basically everything I came on here to say! He's a smashing talent.
Last night I thought his first touch, normally one of his greatest assets, let him down a lot - especially in the first 45.
He is normally very adept at controlling and turning in one movement, away from the player closing him down, but last night it seemed that the ball ran away from him on those turns whereas it normally sticks like glue.
The other thing that made Louis look out of sorts is the complete lack of movement in front of him. He holds control of the football and looks, if there is nothing on he looks again, avoids a challenge, then looks again but last night he invariably had to resort to playing a channel ball instead of playing it into feet around the edge of the box and going for the return. Too many players around him hid last night and made it easy for the Walsall defence to cover their goal keeper. If Louis had been playing with Bradshaw and Manset then he would have played them in on goal several times.
Diego is wasted out wide left. He is not a winger, like Murphy - why do managers always play the youngster out of position in these circumstances? It baffles me. Diego has been doing well at York in the central striker role so for goodness sake, if we are going to use him in our first team, use him in that role. He caused so much more trouble when he came inside than obeying Chris Morgan's shouts to get out wide. We would have been far better off having Flynn and JCR as the wide men last night with Diego centrally, with Reedy feeding him and leaving Porter on the bench. As and when Diego had tired - then bring Porter on to shore things up or go long if required.
Fuck me - you could have at least thrown me a "like" for saving you all that trouble if it was that accurate, FTPE - StrewthThat's basically everything I came on here to say!
What I will add is, if that's Diego's "chance" I'm going to be fuming. Playing up top with porter isn't great at the best of times-
but playing the slowest-weakest-least mobile player at the club in the kids position while throwing him out wide(like he did miller when he came back!) is a joke
Being knocked out of the JPT is less worrying than the nature of the performance. It wasn't a full strength team but there were a lot of regulars out there and we managed to make Walsall, a pretty mediocre team in the league, look like Brazil. Manset was running through our defence at will at some points.
A mediocre team that's compared to your team on a fraction of the budget the last couple of seasons, and who have a reputation fo playing decent football, as you'll have seen if you've been the games against us in the last couple of years.
We haven't started the season well, but Dean Smith has only had a full squad to pick from in the last 4 games after injuries to key players, and has got 3 wins and a draw from those games.
I don't think our teams will be a million miles apart in the league by May. Whether that says more about us or you (or both managers) , I don't know.
This post just about sums things up with us at present FFSA mediocre team that's compared to your team on a fraction of the budget the last couple of seasons, and who have a reputation fo playing decent football, as you'll have seen if you've been the games against us in the last couple of years.

Talking about chest downs, what a take that was from Diego on his chest on the edge of the box,i think it was Harris who struck it into him,it was class.Yes he over hit one and then a perky little 17 year old (just) tried it again.
Failed again - but it takes bottle to do it a second time.
Not his best game but taking the ball on the edge of our box on his chest, then 2 touches later he has laid it off shows maturity and skill beyond his years.
The kid has pure quality and it should be nurtured - as NC is doing.
Makes a change for a decent player coming through not to be a right full back.

Fulwood, finally someone making sense. It's the first time I've seen Reed and if that's him on a bad day, I can't wait to see him when he plays well.
He played 2 bad balls because there was no movement, he was our only driving force in midfield and had our only 2 on target shots.
The rest were poor except Basham and Turner (as mentioned) and Diego when he played up front - suddenly we looked dangerous
