Not sure if anyone has picked up on this but when BBD was playing on the wing, he knew he didnt have the beating of his man and always went backwards, this enabled the opposition always to step up as the CBs didnt have to worry about being out of position to cover if he went past them. Now Donovan playing there, the full back knows hes going to get past him or have a go, which then pushes the CBs back in a positional cover rather than an aggressive push on the forward line. It moves blades further up the pitch and the opposition further back. Thus more room for peck & KP in the middle to dictate the play and take control of the game.

It’s amazing what a slight tactical change can do to move a team much further into their own third.
Agree mate .. there is this modern trend for inverted wingers it does my fkg head in .. a winger playing on their natural side supported by a full back who can also deliver a ball will cause opposition a lot more problems… also Diaz has never been a natural winger

He hasnt, always been best up front on the last man. pace has gone, however causes other issue which is good. Better than cannon, who i do feel sorry for. Not his fault hes not brilliant at football. he will end up leaving and scoring goals elsewhere no doubt. Stupid signing really, we all knew it. The stats were falsified due to his 4 goals in 1 game and the pens he took. However owners wanted to make a statement, a statement would have been getting Hamer to sign a new deal.
