Yet !!!I still have serious doubts that we can compete with any half decent team in this league.
We haven't beaten anybody above 14th.
Not folly but perhaps over optimistic. I would like to reassess at Christmas and then on February 1st.Stalled at the beginning , a few lame performances playing hoof ball , thoughts of promotion are pure folly .
Whether there is money available or not we have to create spaces in the squad first otherwise we are paying players for just turning up to training .We are mid-table actually doing better than our performances would suggest. Where we are in February will ultimately determine where we finish come May. If we add a couple of players we might make a push for a play off spot, lose one or two and we are looking over our shoulders. If Peck puts in a few more performances like last night he will be gone in January. Nothing I have seen or heard would suggest to me the owners will put any money in for transfers more chance of them selling I'd say.
Folly (foot ) , just a nag pun .Not folly but perhaps over optimistic. I would like to reassess at Christmas and then on February 1st.
Well we wouldn't miss Doherty, Shackleton, Reiderwald or Rothwell.Whether there is money available or not we have to create spaces in the squad first otherwise we are paying players for just turning up to training .
Apart from the 92 point season when we were turgid and wank according to plenty on here. The table never liies.

92 points spineless and gutless when if you recall before the January we had a threadbare squad?!Turgid and wank would be a bit harsh.
Spineless and gutless would be more accurate.
As we ultimately showed with the defeats against Oxford, Millwall, Plymouth and Sunderland at Wembley.
Wouldn't disagree we ultimately bottled it but you don't accrue 92 points by being spineless and gutless.Turgid and wank would be a bit harsh.

Which is fair enough but not what you said.Spineless and gutless when it came to nut cutting time.

This shows how ludicrous some fans are.
Absolutely bizarre.
If it's so fucking easy why aren't you doing it?!![]()

This. You can’t discuss games we lost but deserved more from while ignoring games we won but were lucky in - Bolton being one. Wilder does this all the time. This is just a list of excuses and biased nonsense.
What ifs are great but they're not reality.
Wolves scored a late goal, so what?
We scored an even later winning goal against Bolton so does that not count as well?
I've never been impressed with trying to rewrite games of football on what should have happened in this alternate fantasy reality.
The table never lies.
Your right the fact is we havent beat anyone above that but when you break it down, we've been incredibly unlucky not to pick up points.
Stoke - 2 worldie goals that wont happen twice in 1 match like that all season, should have been 3 points (albiet we was poor, they didnt look like scoring though).
Pompey - worldie goal and controversially down to 10 men for 70 mins (whatever time it was)
Wolves - last minute goal which we played well and matched them - should have been at least a point minimum in that game.
Birmingham - both shit, both matched each other and deservedly a bore draw
Swansea - matched them could have won but draw fair result.
Norwich - all over them for first 25 mins then when we just fell to bits. Didnt match in 2nd half.
Ultimately its all a load of what it's and should have could have etc and yes the fact is we havnt done it but we have matched teams and been a bit unlucky along the way and thats whilst we have been playing pretty shit football and looked a mess.
Its football, it happens. It was our worst performance of the season. A poor Wrexham side beat top of the table Boro last night. Anyone can beat anyone in this division. We couldnt beat 10 man Derby who got hammered 0-4 at home to Norwich
I'd recommend listening to the latest pinch episode, an interesting nugget in there about wilder's historical form playing against teams that finish bottom vs teams that finish top. We'll wobble about a bit all season before finishing mid table.
We had a big injury issue/no depth unfortunately souttar injury on boxing day realistically ended out hopes of top 2 but we still got 92 points and you say gutless. Incredible. Before January?
I thought we were a lot better before January.
We got progressively worse the longer the season went on, which was eventually reflected in the results.
I know, but i was replying to the, we can't compete vs top 12. I only listed the games we played those and didnt expand to all our games. We couldnt beat 10 man Derby who got hammered 0-4 at home to Norwich

Totally agree regarding this season and last. Not much as changed, football still same as well pretty much. I do think we are probably a little more solid at the back than last season but I think a lot of that is down to cooper being back in form and Injury free.It all comes back to expectations.
I expected us to finish mid table before the season started and I haven't seen anything to change my mind on that.
We haven't improved from the inconsistent form we saw for the majority of last season.
Anybody talking about the play offs is just setting themselves up for disappointment again.
Neigh lad, trot along. This season is being played at a canter not a gallop and there's a furlong way to go yet.........I don't think we're a dark horse at all. I'll tell you who is a dark horse though... Black Beauty
I think you are forever going to be unhappy with football unless you support a side like real Madrid... Ludicrous. What words would you use to describe an automatic promotion chasing team losing three consecutive league games in April against teams who were 19th, 9th and 24th?
I'm sticking with spineless and gutless.
