Wilders post match interview

[John Street West Terrace]

Going to be the actually guy but Hecky had gone by the time

Going to be the actually guy but Hecky had gone by the time BBD joined us and he was signed by Wilder.

Yep sorry my manager time line is wrong but he def scored 6 in 14 in a side that created next fk all when played down the middle

[Sean Thornton]

It's catching. Now you're making stuff up. Show me where I've said he was less effective. I clearly said it could have been any 5 from 9. My choice would've been Chong and Cannon. Other than Phillips and Cooper none of our players were effective in the first half. Just to be clear, did you think Chong had a good first half?

Firstly Chong. Decent enough. But if you thought Arblaster was better than Cannon or Chong it’s not unreasonable to think you believe he was more effective. Despite him adding nothing for 45 minutes. Poor starting line up, unlucky second half after good, although rather obvious substitutions. Irrespective you’re defending Wilder against any criticism so continuing this is pointless.

[Champagneblade]

I mean he is kind of right – if Chong had been dropped plenty of fans would have asked why BBD is in ahead of Chong, and if BBD had been dropped a good number would have said he offers more than Chong.

The number that would have been critical for starting Donovan over either of them though would have been negligible.

You can argue the merits of Chong v BBD but I don’t think a single fan would argue of the three Donovan would be first pick every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Chong has 0 end product and when he loses the ball he stops and does not get back goal side which nearly always leaves his full back exposed 2 v 1 if he does get back he dies that pretend to be bothered but I’m still just watching the ball.

Donovan for all the plaudits around his attacking talent works extremely hard out of possession and nearly always reacts to losing the ball getting back goal side and usually getting some form of contact.

This is why I don’t understand why he doesn’t start he’s obviously miles better at both sides of the game.

BBD looks like a lame horse waiting to be retired and needs some time out the team to work on fitness

BBD? Some kind of pony!? Neigh!

[Uganda Blade]

Big Bloody Donkey, more like

[metalblade]

I've always thought BBD was better playing in a front two, he is definitely wasted playing out wide and offers nothing there. This is Wilder though he does the same with Ryan Oné who is built like a centre forrad so he sticks him on the wing just because the kid can run at and beat a man. Sick of seeing Wilder play his favourites and players out of their best positions. Totally sick of Wilder, get rid United.

[Broomhall Blade]

He'd made 4 of the allotted 5 subs by the 67th minute. Guehi was subbed as he was on a yellow and walking a tightrope. It's okay to have a pop at the manager for his mistakes but let's not make stuff up.

Do you not think 67min is to late when we are losing 1-0 and have played absolutely garbage for those 67min ?
Its not even has if its a one off, the first half against Lincoln was the worst half of football I have seen from United in a long time.

[Broomhall Blade]

Steve Cooper? Been out of work a bit now, might be up for it? Didn't set the world on fire at Leicester or Bronby but did well at Swansea on a frees and loans only restriction, not to mention getting Forest off the bottom of the Champ to the PL?

God no.

[CarlMcBlade]

Look, when a team isn’t playing very well, most fans can get in behind the team when they can understand what the manager is trying to do. Well, I’ll be fucking blown if I can tell you what footballling philosophy “our Chrissie” is trying to pursue.
I know we haven’t got the most talented group of footballers, but even if we did, they still need a basic plan to follow.

Exactly.
You are playing 2nd from bottom at home who have taken a grand total of 2 points from 6 games you play your best creative attacking players from the start and go for it.

I’d wouldn’t play him wide full stop ., when he played under Hecky as a CF in a shit team in the PL he scored 6 in 14 .
Hate him as a wide player looks a fish out of water .. if Bamford’s out I’d give One a start ., failing that give Diaz a pop dosn the middle again

Hecky wasn’t here when we had him in a shit team in the PL and he played more out wide on the left
He’s played under Wilder three times now

[232 Bramall Lane]

As I said in a different thread,
If he doesn't start Donovan against a weak Derby side in some disarray, when will he start him?

[Barnette]

BBD looks to me like he is playing at 70%. Never wins a 50:50 and most of the time avoids them entirely.

Presumably he's reached the point in his career when he is protecting his body. He also grimaces frequently so maybe he plays with a constant injury.

Hes not the only one..and I guess there are quite a few pros out there in a similar position...but why on earth was he considered a suitable loan signing?

Unfortunately I see a Dave Bassett scenario happening here with Wilder.Harry went through a period where he didn't get support from the club and not getting a response from the players without having to let rip at half time. Classic case of a mans time having run out at the club .
Harry almost said thankyou in the end as he Knew his time was up! Will Wilder go as gracefully as Dave? Time will tell.
I like lots of Blades want CW to pull it together unfortunately as seen before when players stop listening its the beginning of the end.
Bollockings work if only used occasionally and that happens to all clubs when standards drop ! It can be a great get out of jail card occasionally but not almost every match which seems to be the case with us.
CW given us some great times but as a supporter of the club 1st and CW 2nd maybe his time is up.
I find it hard to say that but fans are turning against him and some are voting with there feet, maybe its the best time to make a change as I can see us sliding in to a relegation battle.
I do really hope I'm wrong but historicall signs are there.
Have the owners been sniffing for a new leader ! They should have after the Pigs ear they made of it last time.
Don't beleave it has to be an English leader there are some great young coaches around ! Surely they have someone onboard who can give them sound advice .

[Chezzy Blades]

When was this Blackburn thing?

It was 2021/22.

It also isn’t exactly true. He scored 13 in 24 up front and 9 in 13 playing on the left. Blackburn also played a 4-3-3 not a 4-4-2 so when on the left he played in a higher starting position and had an extra midfielder to help with defending.

He’s only played on the left of a 4 man midfield 22 times in his career, and almost exclusively for United.

He was dog shit and spineless yesterday but if Wilder is going to insist on continuing with his antiquated 4-4-2 then BBD is a striker, not a left midfielder. Same with Oné who has never been a right midfielder in this system.
