Another strange game to dissect as until the red card, United were second best and a struggling Derby side should have been out of sight. The Blades had started ok and maybe shaded the first 10-15 but the visitors stated to physically impose themselves and we struggled to get out. The Rams won corner after corner and then in game of few chances, they started to exploit gaps and should have been ahead before they were. Cooper made two outstanding saves; they hit the post and finally they get the lead they fully merited. It had been coming for the 5-10 minutes before they did score.

United were dreadful for the most part. Slow, no real clear possession in the Derby half that caused problems and resorted to long balls. This would have been fine if we had some of the muscular forwards Derby had but we have some of the timidest forwards/wingers in the league starting. There was no clear plan at all and against an awful visiting side that had won 1 in 14, they coped with us easily, even with a makeshift defence. It was wretched stuff and rightly United were booed off drawing the thumbs up from Wilder. The game was played in appalling weather conditions and not helped by a referee that seemed to lose control early – failing to clamp down on some cynical fouls both ways and totally inconsistent with his decisions.

We made no changes which was incredible and it did not improve. We barely had an attack of note for the first 20 minutes of the second half. Derby did not offer much but did not need to. They were really comfortable and could not see United creating anything at all. Seriki and Donovan then come on and give us a spark. Seriki’s run sees the second yellow and a red card. We then are handed a huge lift, when we never looked like coming back. Donovan gets on the ball and starts running at them. He has a few efforts and crosses and finally the keeper is having to work after being totally unemployed. The leveller comes from a superb Donovan cross. Campbell comes on after Bamford got clattered, bravely scoring, and actually was the best he had looked for a while. We suddenly look dangerous and move it wide and get some decent balls in. Chong, Seriki, Burrows and of course Donovan were the main architects of chances but Phillips was the fulcrum in our improvements. We create a series of chances and Zetterstrom made 2 or 3 astonishing saves. The one from Campbell was outrageously good and then the late one from Peck – and the follow up from Burrows, superb reaction stops. Somehow, they cling on despite it seeming inevitable we would get a winner. I think if the games goes on another 5 minutes, we would have won, but sadly we left it too little, too late. In the end, we are probably fortunate in some ways to get a draw after being awful for 70 minutes. They should have finished us off when they had chance. The red card and the subs changed the game and we suddenly then are camped in their last third and really with more composure, better finishing and worse keeping, we get a win that we did not deserve.

A few came out saying they were not sure how we did not win it but equally we could have been 2 or 3 down before the red card? So, whilst Derby will be delighted to battle for the draw at the end, on reflection, they were the better side for most of the game until the stupid second yellow from Sanderson – that effectively cost them the game. I was not that disappointed not to win in the end, despite the late flurry. We certainly did not do enough to win the game and overall, there are more questions than answers again. Derby have been absolutely dire most of the season and should have been there for the taking but another timid, slow and clueless first half performance, with a dreadful team selection sees more pressure put on Wilder. I am not sure how he can defend how we played for 70 minutes- we may have seen some slight improvements in the last 3 games, but overall, the game today was similar to how we have performed much of the season. Players who look slow, weak and largely lacking the drive/courage to take games to other teams but also ultimately no clear sense of tactics, direction or style of play. It was absolutely dire to watch for 70 minutes with backwards; sideways play normally ended with an aimless punt to four weak and slow forward players. Arblaster was non existent in midfield with Phillips having to do the work of two men and Tanganga and Kitching struggled with physical and aggressive forwards (how we wished for players with these characteristics?) and slowly they penned us back. If they had been more clinical, the game is done at half time and Wilder would have had far more derision than he rightly got.

I cannot fathom how we are trying to play but even if he has not style/tactics or plan to effectively move the ball up the field/put sustained pressure on opponents, he needs to pick his better players. Leaving Donovan out is absolutely ridiculous. I get that Seriki was coming back so may not be risked from the start and Arblaster did ok last week but we are not helping ourselves with the players he is fielding in certain positions. BBD and Chong (did improve second half with more space) are pitifully bad. Weak, lacking aggression and dynamism and slow and predictable. Also, both have the heart of a pea. Throw in the wretched Cannon (so weak and does not read anything) who is largely anonymous most week, we have big issues. Even Bamford has been himself this season but has nicked some goals and scored a few good ones a few weeks ago. Least he might find a moment.

It is remarkable still we are middle of the league with the complete and utter lack of a plan in games. Tactically we are absolutely woeful. Just shows how bad the rest of the league is, if there are so many teams below us. However, as Derby showed, if we continue in this vein, we will probably be moving downwards than upwards. We need some results the next 3 or 4, as late November and December’s fixtures are ominous.

I am sure some will say I have gone over the top, but the final part of the game hugely papers over the cracks of a really poor performance. Only Cooper and Phillips (partly at fault for the goal) came out with any real credit up the red card. The fact our subs were our best players after those two, summed up how poor the rest of the starters were. I am sick of watching a slow, unfit team of players that cannot run and they are largely a really unlikeable bunch. The re-signings of Choudhury and BBD were unbelievably bad moves and Wilder has to take full responsibility for this. Neither should be anywhere near a competent Championship team. Their legs have gone completely. Throw in Ayew, Doherty and Rothwell and their needs to be some severe questioning of our recruitment but make no mistake, these are all Wilder signings. We did seem to have found a gem in Donovan but he does not play him. This is frankly pathetic. He will go back in January and go on loan to a team that will use him. For Wilder to say people would moan if we did not play BBD or Chong over him, shows how out of touch he is. Also, I thought he did not listen to outside noise? It is sad what Wilder has become. The crowds are dwindling and whilst the loss of key players has not helped it only serves to show that he was relying on individuals to get him and the side out of the cart. Now we need to have a structure and get the best out of what we have but he is failing in this regard badly. I look at sides like WBA, Swansea and QPR and wonder why they are doing so much better and far more exciting to watch?

It is a draw at home and we have not lost so maybe I am over reacting. We are sat in the middle, which is about where I expected so in that regard perhaps, I should be more realistic. We did ok in the last three games and maybe with a bit of luck get something at Pompey – to add to the wins at Bristol and against Lincoln.

However, the entertainment and level of performances have been really bad this season. We showed some fight at the end but it was only really down to Donovan and the red card. I want us to control games, move the ball at pace, use our better attacking talents but we seem safe, conservative and dull. Even if we managed to stay away from the bottom places, which we may well do, due to some of the bad teams I discussed earlier, the supporters are not going to keep coming and watching such a poor standard of football. We have another physical and direct side to come in Wrexham and expect Moore to cause the same problems as some of the Derby front lads – they beat us easily in both games last season and I think it will be a tough game against a better opponent than whom we faced today. Maybe he plays his better players and maybe somehow, we have a plan or some kind of tactics but after so many games, I am not confident this suddenly happens.

___

Cooper 7.5/10 – Kept us in the game. Superb low save down to his right, stopped a one on one and then they hit the post and score. Had little to do second half of course. It is a good job his performances have been so high this season or we would have had some real batterings.

Choudhury 4/10 – Started ok with a few tackles but quickly they started to find space down this side and he was slow to react to danger. Lost out in tussles and they began to get balls in without any pressure. A few times they came down the flank and got down the byline. He seemed to go down holding his back a few times. We looked better when Seriki came on and had more of a threat.

Tanganga 4/10 – I am rapidly losing faith in him. He is a bang average centre half but also one who makes mistakes. He makes a few blocks and headers here and there but is quite slow and loses running battles and aerially, big forwards impose themselves on him. On the ball he is absolutely dreadful and constantly played poor passes out or behind teammates. He looks clueless when given the ball and just gives it to someone else. They ran through us down the middle 2 or 3 times first half with him and Kitching nowhere to be seen. A player that I was pleased when we signed him but been really underwhelming and another, we need to improve on. He does only have another year after this season – so we will probably try to cash in next summer, based on our transfer strategy in recent years. We certainly won’t get anywhere near to what we paid for him.

Burrows 6/10 - He was the best of the four defenders who started and at least he won a few tackles, got interceptions and he looked one of the better players attacking wide. He played a couple of good balls in and looked to get wide early on but then got forced back and was another who switched off a few times. Second half was effectively more of a forward and got some decent balls in but a few telegraphed too. Should react quicker to force home at the end perhaps?

Kitching 5/10 – One of his poorer games for us. They had some big, physical players and for that spell 15-45 minutes in the first half, he and Tanganga simply did not win enough headers or loose balls and lost out meaning they turned us round and had runners. They outmuscled us and won the first and second balls, meaning we could not get out. Got better second half but they posed less of a threat. Thought he was sloppy on the ball today too – which is normally one of his strengths too.

Phillips 7/10 – Our best outfield starter and by some way despite being at fault for the goal. He actually had a few loose touches to begin with and the goal does come from his error but he kept going and the only one looking to get on the ball. He tried to play forward passes at least and got stuck in with some meaty challenges (I worried on a few as he threw himself in). One trying to make us tick. Had our best effort first half (only one) and his corners and crosses were our main chance of getting something. He continued to keep trying to drive us forward and became the deepest player for the final 20 minutes as he played the quarterback role. He sent over some good ones but also some that did not beat the first man. He was our only midfielder who actually looked like moving the ball forwards, and at pace. The one maybe criticism, is he was too deep and playing that sweeper role means we have less men in the middle but I think he almost had to do that as Tanganga and many others are so bad with the ball, so has to go and take the ball?

Arblaster 3/10 – Played really well last week but one step forward, two steps back it feels. Today he was miles off and largely anonymous. Never in the game and always at full stretch. Phillips had to do his running, tackling and ball work. His touches he did have were loose and gave it away. I worry that even for the improvement we saw last week, this was less of the norm we have seen. For the most part, his performances have been like today where he is contributing very little and looking a long way off the physical pace.

Chong 5.5/10 – First half he was disappointing. Kept coming back inside, slow to do things and offered nothing of note. He was shoved out of it a few times and also did not get back to help Choudhury. I wanted him off at half time (with about half a dozen others) but he did get better after the break. At least put some balls in and got on it. He takes ages to do things and he is rather predictable but there were some balls into the box and some interplay as we had an extra man. Should have anticipated a great cross from Campbell but was on his heels. A nothing sort of player that is one amongst several, we should be looking to move on but doubt anyone takes him.

Brereton Diaz 1.5/10 – What a wretched signing he has been. We had him once and he did well. Brought him back which was fair enough but he did very little last time out. He then does very little on loan at other clubs and we somehow bring him back again! Completely lost any legs he did have and seems to be going backwards when he runs. Another that seems to be terrified of any kind of physical contact. When he had the ball, he gave it away. Cannot recall anything he did right (one shot over the bar?). How he is getting picked over Donovan, is anyone’s guess? The likes of him Choudhury and Cannon should not be anywhere near the team, yet Wilder keeps picking them.

Bamford 5.5/10 – I thought he was largely off the pace and has been like this a fair bit this season. He did get a goal which he reacted to and was brave but the ball did not stick at the top of the field. Did not really look much of a threat and looks quite immobile this season. Took a whack first half too. He will get goals though an others look unlikely to do that so he kind of has to play. We may be without him for a few weeks, if he has put his shoulder out?

Cannon 2/10 – Awful. Slow, weak and barely moving. Seemed to be hidden behind the centre half most of the game. He fell down meekly when players leaned into him and appealed for non-existent fouls. He just does not react to things but his reluctance to make physical contact means that centre halves have easy games against him. Morris was dirty and clumsy but far more of a threat than him.

Subs –

Peck 6/10 – Gave us some energy after the total non-show from Arblaster and when they had one sent off, he could get on the ball more and had a few shots and efforts. Should have done better with a headed chance but one decent long-range effort. His chance at the end, I thought he should have scored and had more time but the shot was too close to the keeper. He did help us move the ball on more and a bit quicker but another guilty of too many touches.

Serki 6/10 – His run was a game changing moment, in that it led to the second yellow. Saw a fair bit of the ball but think only once got past his man. Wrong decisions a few times and maybe things did not quite come off but he at least gave us something we did not have in terms of legs/running.

Donovan 8.5/10 – The red card and his introduction completely changed the game. Got on the ball, drove at defenders, put crosses in, had shots on goal and looked like the best player on the field. Did more in 10 seconds then BBD for 65 minutes. For a young lad, took responsibility and wanted to get on it putting these experienced, culture carriers to shame. I’d rather see more of lads like him. Sure, a few things did not come off but he never stopped wanting the ball and was always making positive decisions and going forward. Tremendous shot that was kept out and then the assist for the goal with a superb ball. Set up 2 or 3 other chances with his running and crosses and had another effort saved. Had to start. Sure, he will have moments where he makes poor decisions or gives it away but BBD offers nothing (he is not even going back and helping defensively)

Campbell 6.5/10 – Best he has looked for a while. He had a few efforts and got on the ball, holding it up and giving us a focal point. Ran down the sides and put a great ball in (for Chong). One turned shot somehow was saved by the keeper via the bar. Maybe he should score with the chance at the death as he and Burrows both have to be quicker and more clinical (it was almost an open goal but they were on their heels) but overall we saw some flashes- maybe helped by our man advantage.

Ayew 4/10 – Not sure he got on the ball much at all. A few touches but a lot of our good play came from others rather than him.

Manager Rating: Wilder 2/10 – 2/10 for a manager who got a draw again might be a topic for discussion but I cannot give him anymore. The performance until the late flurry was largely awful. I have discussed the non-selection of Donovan and him picking Cannon, Chong, BBD and Choudhry (4 dreadful footballers) but tactically he is continuing to flounder. Derby have been second best and barely picked up anything all season, yet for over an hour, they were far better team and had a clear play. We did not. We looked like we have every other game almost. Play around with it at the back, move it side to side and then finally when we have no other idea, whack it long for four weak and slow forwards – who just trudge after a ball that normally goes out or to the opposition keeper. Absolutely dross to watch. No interchange, no urgency, no pressing off the ball. With better finishing/worse keeping – the game is done long before the red card. Why does he not change it at half time and realise he has made a mistake – wasted more time? Looks a completely busted flush these days. His thumbs up the crowd when they booed at half time might have been because he agreed but just looked a petulant act of a manager who simply seems to have completely lost the ideas/magic he had when he was here the first time. I think he will remain, as we have clueless owners and will oversee a campaign where the best cased scenario is to stay away from any kind of trouble- but I have seen nothing in terms of his signings, his tactics, his motivation and his in-game management to suggest he is the man to lead us any further than the short term.

---

Derby – They started slowly and clearly are lacking confidence but quite quickly realised, we were poor and offering little so started to pin us back. They won about 5 corners in quick succession and the big lads started to cause problems. They became the dominant force and controlled the game. They then had big chances with Cooper saving a couple that looked goals all end up and then they hit the post- but score the rebound. Well deserved. They committed far more men forward than us and were the away side. Quite direct but still played pockets of better football and seemed to want it more than us. After the break, they coped rather easily and despite a lot of defensive injuries, were compact, organised and could have a high line due to our lack of pace. Seriki and Donovan forced them to change this but until the red card, has we really hurt them or forced many saves?

Sanderson was idiotic and this saw us use our extra man and the pace in the subs to force them back. The goal was poor as nobody reacted and then after this it was just about hanging on and thanks to some blocks and mainly the keeper, somehow kept us out. Would have been really harsh to lose despite the wonder saves and number of close calls, as for the majority of the game, they were the better side. I would say, that if they play like that, they may move up the league and probably are underachieving compared to last few seasons. However, they will not play many sides as clueless and limp as us. If Eustace loses today, his job might have been in jeopardy. I quite liked him but the start has been shocking this season. I expect them to finish clear of the relegation places but the start will be hard to overcome in terms of moving much more than the bottom third.

Opposition player of the match – Zetterstrom hardly had anything to do but then makes 2-3 superb saves. I thought the Cooper one was good first half but how the Derby keeper managed to push the Campbell shot up and onto the bar, I do not know? Thought Clark was lively first half and despite them both being dirty, Meister and Morris were a handful and caused problems helping the ball stay up the field.

Opposition weak link – Sanderson. Easy pick. Two cynical yellow cards and cost his team the win. Brewster was dire too. Looked overweight, slow and unfit. He barely touched the ball. I expect him to be in the lower divisions when his contract expires end of this season. Showed a few flashes a few seasons ago but for the most part, he has never gone onto show anything really consistent to justify that ridiculous fee we paid.

Referee – Steve Martin. I thought he was a homer for the first half and gave us lots of 50-50’s but then they were wrestling and fouling a fair bit but felt Tanganga and Kitching got away with a few the other way. I heard we may have had a penalty appeal for a handball but not seen it back. Despite Derby fans saying they were playing 12 men in Roys View from- I thought they could not complain about many of the bookings and Sanderson was stupid to commit another cynical foul and was a definite second yellow. Maybe we could have had a few bookings too but he also let Morris and Meister commit so many fouls without giving them a yellow card. As the game went on, he started to give some odd decisions and also, it became really stop start. He constantly wanted to talk to people and the game kept stopping. Worrying that you notice the referee so much. I think Derby fans think he was poor for them, whilst seen some Blades say the same (due to the number of fouls/wrestling that was not penalised) so that kind of suggests you, that he has not had a great game!

Must have been a sarcastic thumbs up because the fans criticism seems to have been a recurring sore point with CW for some time now.

“Donovan 8.5/10 – The red card and his introduction completely changed the game. Got on the ball, drove at defenders, put crosses in, had shots on goal and looked like the best player on the field. Did more in 10 seconds then BBD for 65 minutes.”

I respectfully disagree… he did more in 10 seconds than BBD has done the entire season ..

If Cannon's 2 Bamford's a 3 because apart from the goal they were equally as wank.
Kind of see where you are coming from but without Bamford anticipating and bravely going in, we get nothing. He was poor though I agree and despite him being our leading scorer, I think he has dropped off a fair bit.

We need two new centre forwards and two new centre backs...and so on!

Excellent report, many thanks. Don't think BBD or Cannon were as poor as you suggest. Is this Wilder's first 2/10?

If Cannon's 2 Bamford's a 3 because apart from the goal they were equally as wank.
‘Apart from doing his job, what did he do?’

Look neither are spectacular players but Bamford scored and cannon doesn’t. That’s why they get vastly different ratings.

Cannon is a waste of a shirt, at least Bamford does score in a poor team

Thanks Deadbat for your thoughts on the game..here is mine..Wilder is watching a different team in a parallel universe where he thinks they are good..its the only thing i can come up with...

Cheers Deadbat. Glad I missed this today as it sounds absolutely fucking dire.
Where are we going as a club? I have absolutely no idea. I'm sure we aren't going down but this smacks of being the start of a long, painful period of mediocrity.

As we saw it. Dreadful performance again, they should have been 3 up before the stupid sending off. The picking of certain players is baffling, his tactics baffling, the man management baffling. His petulant sarcasm at half time is typical of his slapped arse miserable face. 2 out of 10 is generous,as changes were forced on him,Donovan was warming up down by us with body language saying‘what do I have to do’.

Your comments and ratings this week are absolutely spot on. Cannon so ineffective, Tangy being allowed to distribute is bonkers his passing is horrendous.

Some harsh scoring there pal .. they are a dogged physical side & I think some ppl came today expecting them to roll over .
Thought we were ok first 20 mins in a tight game & then they bullied us until HT .
Once they went 1-0 up they went from 442 to 541 & we really struggled to break them down .
The sending off which was more than merited as he’d twated Bamford in the first half & ref & Lino had completely missed it & then followed it up with two nailed on yellows . The introduction of Donovan & Seriki after the red completely transformed the game & their keeper won them a point .

Cooper 8
Burrows 6
Kitching 7.5
Tanganga 5
Choudhury 5 ( Seriki 6.5 )
Chong 6
Arblaster 3.5 ( Peck 6 )
Philips 8
Diaz 3 ( Donovan 8 )
Bamford 5 ( Campbell 3 )
Cannon 5 ( Ayew 3 )

A depressingly accurate summary of the tactical ineptitude we have once again had to witness.

Anyone with a modicum of football intelligence knows 2 playing against 3 in midfield means you have less of the ball and are open to the opposition running through you. Add in Arblaster is not a combatative DM and you are left with Phillips on his own. The one factor CW did get right post match was that first half only Phillips and Cooper deserved any credit.

Time and time again this season its staring the manager in the face 4-4-2 doesnt work against a 4-2-3-1. Apart from the fact we dont have robust pacy forwards what is the point of hoofing it forward when the best header of a ball offensively in the team, McCallum, is dropped.

When is the manager going to realise with the players he has at his disposal playing with a midfield 3 is the solution? Wrexham up next play with a 3. You can only surmise its intransigence in trying to prove Canon will come good one day. Will never happen with the way we play.

CW is becoming isolated from reality and the growing anger at his selection decisions is now untenable. He was right the first half was poor so why didnt he make the substitutions of Peck and Donovan at half time. His assertion we werent losing 3 or 4 nil to justify this non action confirms his mind set of safety first. All this talk of wanting to see front foot football is meaningless. We havent seen it for over a season now with formation obsession hindering the ability to move forward.

Tangangas inability to cope with robust forwards is becoming a problem. In this divison you need an aerial beast at the back. We have Moore to cope with next game and Mcg coming back may be the only alternative.

As for Donovans performance CW now has his answer. Play your main threat from the off.

The only positives were Seriki coming back and Campbells cameo. He has to put in that level of performance every game now especially if Bamford is out for a while.

Its frustrating to watch because with a few tweaks in tactics, formation and selection this team has the ability to move up the table. Is CW capable of accepting play to your teams strengths not the oppostions? If Canon, Choudhury and BBD start next game we will have the answer.

What did BBD/Cannon do positively? Cannot recall anything. Totally out of the game and 2nd best in every contact

I fucking hate BBD, he's shite in everything he does and 1.5 for him is at least half a Mark too high and has been pretty much every time he's played this season.

‘Apart from doing his job, what did he do?’

Look neither are spectacular players but Bamford scored and cannon doesn’t. That’s why they get vastly different ratings.

Cannon is a waste of a shirt, at least Bamford does score in a poor team

Doing his job? One goal that went in off his bollocks in 90 minutes and you're happy that he gets a lot higher Mark because of that? Bamford scored so gets a point more than Cannon for me because apart from Bamfords worldie they were both fucking wank.

Appreciate we all see games differently however ill have a pint of what you have been having Cannon 5 is that for the whole season most effective thing he did all game was wipe his nose with his shirt. Id love him to come good like i did with Brewster. Its not going to happen not piling in on the lad its just not a good fit for us.

You’ve not gone over the top Deadbat. You’ve not been too harsh. Absolutely nailed it.

As for the ref there was an incident in the second half where Donovan’s was running at Derby player completely beat him but then ran into him and fell over. No free kick was given. It was almost identical to the situation where Choudrey was penalised and given his second yellow (and consequently was sent off)) against Portsmouth. No consistency and todays ref got it right!

I agree Arblaster didn’t have a good game but, in mitigation, look at what he had in front of him - BBD, Cannon, Chong and (this season) Bamford offer nothing - must be the easiest front 4 to defend against in the division - no pace, no strength and no link-up play.

He continued to keep trying to drive us forward and became the deepest player for the final 20 minutes as he played the quarterback role.
He could have driven us forward from midfield, he dropped into the back line after 35 minutes and never moved back into midfield again. You’re, right though probably our best player apart from Donovan, but putting his foot in and having the ball off the keeper is hardly earth shattering.

He was woeful in defence. Couldn’t tackle a fish supper. Check out their goal as he just jogs back as Phillips got dispossessed. It was almost Lundstram-esque

Not much to say about the game generally as it’s all been said above. As an aside, if you want to talk and read about one of our games the Deadbat report thread is the best place to do it on the net. High quality match report and comments.

A few comments on players then.

Donovan really showed up Wilder’s short sightedness over selection. I’ll accept Chong has done better this season than last but BBD, who was excellent 3 years ago in a harder league, has been largely woeful. There is no justification for his continued selection at present. Wilder can be assured that the fans will not care if he’s dropped.

Also, after Chong and BBD both showed clear improvement after switching wings v Lincoln, why on earth was this not tried at some point? That just strikes me as daft.

Another good display from Phillips although he was too deep in the first half. I think saying it was an error for the goal is a little harsh: it was two against one and he had to stretch. But he was on his own as Arblaster disappeared into the Jamie Hoyland/ Paul Thirwell/Bobby Ford black hole. Where was he? A defensible selection after last week’s good game but he was back to early season nothingness.

Hamza was a straightforward bad selection. I know McGuinness was concussion protocoled but the FB formation at the end of the Bristol C game showed the answer was Burrows and McCallum. Derby spent most of the first half targeting Hamza and although he didn’t do too badly he was all at sea for a goal, again.

After what we have seen the section of BBD and Hamza on Friday is indefensible, unless BBD goes up front in Bamfords absence.

I don’t think Bamford was that good but we cannot spare him, he scores. A brave goal too. I see it’s been said it was another game which didn’t suit Cannon. No game suits Cannon. Everyone has big lads at the back.

Every time we see Derby or Luton I see Carlton Morris busting his arse for his team. I don’t expect Cannon to be a Carlton Morris type player, but we can expect him to put in Carlton Morris type effort.

W4 D4 L4. Going to be like this all season. Defeat on Friday is nailed on, but we will pick up other points soon after.
