No one has mentioned the amazing actor, Brian Blessed! He played a character called Brod in drama series about post-apocalytic Britain called Survivors. It was filmed in 3 series between 1975 and 1977. He lived in a railway carriage with Blades images on the wall including IIRC, Tony Currie. I can only find one image of him in his red and white scarf, but the series is available on YouTube. Well it was a few years ago! He was in the episode entitled "Law of the Jungle" in episode 3 series 3.

Just looked YouTube. Can only find odd clips now 😒 You can buy the series, though. About £27

You can watch the entire series for free on the Internet Archive.

This is the Brian Blessed episode.

Edit: The link above skips back to the first episode of the first series but they're all there if you navigate down on the actual website.

Here's one that not many people know, Colonel Harland Sanders of KFC fame was a lifelong Blade. In 1890 when he was born, his dad was in Sheffield trying to sell the idea of building Kentucky Fried Chicken shops outside the steelworks but the bosses from Brown Bailey's put the kybosh on it, telling him they'd likely get flattened in the blitz some 50 years later so there'd be no future in it.

Anyway, on his way back to Pond Street to get the bus to Manchester airport, he bought a Green 'Un and saw that the Blades beat Rotherham Town three nowt at the Lane and by the time he got home to Henryville, Indiana he was bitten by the Blades bug. He got a Firestick and started streaming the games and little Harland loved it. By the time he got to school he wouldn't play American football, baseball or basketball, he only wanted to play saaaaacer in his Blades kit that his dad got him from DHGate.

Fast forward to him starting the KFC chain and he insisted that the company logo etc. would always remain red and white and no matter how shit the gravy is now, remember we had a part in that franchise becoming the monster that it is today.

Oh and interesting fact, Paul Woolhouse allegedly bought a couple of KFC restaurants in Indiana and is living a wealthy life off the profits to this very day.61tvuWYnbIL._AC_SY300_SX300_QL70_FMwebp_.webp

The KFC logo I remember was blue and white.

I might be imagining this but wasn’t Mr Blobby a kind of mascot for us when we played the pigs at Wembley? I swear I remember him in a Blades shirt

Ahem!

We're talking about the mid-late 30's, 98% of American men were cross dressing to avoid the draft, that's why they were so late joining the war.

I think that was Brains from Thunderbirds.

Or the Ghanaian bloke who played Presuming Ed in Withnail & I.

At this late hour, it's difficult to remember.

It seems such a long, long, long time ago.

That was a cracking series back in the day.
Had the right level of believability and jeopardy. Scary stuff.

Doesn't explain why Harland has disproportiate arms and legs to his head.

Pretty sure Clarkson supports Chelsea.
He appears on a Top Gear Special, can’t remember which one, wearing a Doncaster Rovers woolly hat.

That said, I’m not sure that can be taken as a true sign of support, he’s often very scathing about his home town.

I'm sure he's mentioned that when he was at school in Donny most of the kids/bullies, he didn't like were Leeds fans. Maybe his love of Chelsea stems from the 1970 f.a. cup final win. The replay of which was brutal.
