Sean Bean.

He gave me a lift to the match a few times and his Mum used to work with my Dad 😊

Wonder which one on that list is the biggest/ truest Blade?

I know Paul Heaton used to attend plenty of matches, including away matches in the 80’s.

Where as some one like Michael Palin only went to the Lane when he was a young boy and he’s admitted he’s a Sheffielder first and a Blade second, so he likes to see both Sheffield clubs doing well.

Probably by far the 2 most well known Blades worldwide, given the global reach of the Prem and the Manchester clubs, aren't in the initial poll - Kyle Walker and Harry Maguire. Household names to countless millions of Asian and African teenage Premier League fanatics. (someone has probably pointed this out but I can't be bothered to read back through the thread).

Mick Foley when he was trying to cash in (successfully) on a random Billy Sharp celebration he did on a dare

Wasn't it that Sharp did the celebration because Foley was doing an evening talk at Bramall Lane? Not that Sharp did the celebration randomly and Foley decided to turn up.

Had the pleasure of meeting Mr foley today, got him to sign my blades shirt.

Had a quick chat about his time at the lane, which he said he throughly enjoyed. He did express his disappointment that Billy Sharp no longer plays for us though :D

The Beast isnt a Blade... once saw him in morrisons car park at Bramley..

'Excuse me mr Beast, can i ask you a question?'

Bastard rolled his eyes at me like hes been asked it a couple of times before.

'Its not a general knowledge question.... wind thee neck in........how come you ended up supporting the Blades then?'

'I dont... the company i work for has some sponsorship thing with them so i just go for the free food'

And off he shuffled into the shop

Next time you see him, ask if he'd rather have pork chops for hands, or steak for feet.

I've got a book by Jarvis Cocker which features a photo of him "proudly showing off" the Sheffield Wednesday shirt he'd just been given for his 6th birthday (1969). There's no other mention of interest in them at all though after that. He does also say that the first song he learnt on the guitar was Annie's Song :)
Joe Cocker was definitely a blade though, so should be on the list.

It wasn't Chris Nolan who put the Blades shirt in Batman Begins. It was the same guy who put this bar sign in the recent Hellboy.

I do it in lots of films I work on. Nobody seems to notice though.
Spent ages looking for this post 😂

Pretty sure I've just spotted a blades shirt in the new marvel series, thought it might be your doing!

No one has mentioned the amazing actor, Brian Blessed! He played a character called Brod in drama series about post-apocalytic Britain called Survivors. It was filmed in 3 series between 1975 and 1977. He lived in a railway carriage with Blades images on the wall including IIRC, Tony Currie. I can only find one image of him in his red and white scarf, but the series is available on YouTube. Well it was a few years ago! He was in the episode entitled "Law of the Jungle" in episode 3 series 3.

Just looked YouTube. Can only find odd clips now 😒 You can buy the series, though. About £27

He actually supports Newcastle United, even though he's from Mexborough IIRC.
I remember watching quite a bit of the first series but didn't follow it though to it's final series conclusion. At the time I found the opening sequence a bit disturbing, how a virus could sweep across the world and virtually destroy it.
Not beyond the realms of fiction as we tragically found out years later.
