Another great result – ignore the doomsayers, we are still on target for a low playoff position.

Remember that based on the last decade, I am taking a 92 points target for Automatics, a 70 points target for 8th (playoffs) and an 81 points target for 4th (playoff semis) - Chart 1.

So, another win, and another demonstration of efficiency. We beat Lincoln 3-0 last Saturday, and our 3 goals had a total xg 0f 0.33! That’s how ordinary teams get success.
Today, Blaster stuck in a 25-yard 0.03 xg goal and Kitching put in a couple of hints of becoming the next JOC.

Turning to my graphs, remember, as mentioned above, I am taking a 70 points target for 8th (playoffs) and an 81 points target for 4th (playoff semis). These schedules were set and posted on July 28 – so it’s not recent “hopium”.

I’m only showing the first 11 matches on the graphs at the moment, so that the difference between the lines is visible.

Graph 1 plots our progress against those promotion targets, with my forecast for each match that will deliver those targets. People say look at where you are after 10 games – well after 11 we’re bang on my schedule for 8th place, and very close to (just 2 points below) my schedule for 4th place

Graph 2 is the comparison with our last 2 seasons – and with 15 points we are now 6 points ahead of last season, and only 6 points behind Wilder’s 92 point season in 24/25.

The League Table shows us in 11th place, just 2 behind current 8th but, based on the games played, my schedule would see us finishing 8th.

So, a great win away at Bristol City.

Playing wingers, for at least some of the game, with their strong foot on the outside is clearly producing positive results.

That's the good luck, the bad luck being the 3 worldies scored against us, do you know what the xg for those were?

More good luck please.

only 6 points behind Wilder’s 92 point season in 24/25.

Doesn't feel like it, maybe it's because of all the negativity on here.

Shhhh don’t give too many secrets away.

Couple of interesting points:

Though we’ve played 11 matches, 6 of those have been away suggesting we’ve had the thin end of the wedge on fixtures so far.

At this stage, with 12 teams left to play, we play 5 above us and 7 below, suggesting we’ve also had a harder than average start.

Need to take advantage of these upcoming home matches.

I’m hopefully heading to UK for mid November. Last time I came at this time of year we drew with QPR, beat Wednesday, beat Portsmouth, beat Leicester, beat Stoke and drew with Norwich when the plague hit the camp.

Nice if my daughter and I could return to Asia with a similar record in the bag! Six games this time around too if work let me do the trip.

I try not to get carried away in any direction. Doesn't always work but to over react for wins or losses and performances either good or bad is folly in football.

I saw yesterday how Brighton fans wanted Hurzeler out back in March. Now he's the best thing since sliced bread.
Look at Clement at Norwich in an opposite fashion.

Wilders history works for and against him in my opinion. Because he achieved so much in that first stint. And the performances were good too fans remember them well.

But if he was a brand new manager we appointed this time last season the heat on him would not be as high. In fact there may even be some sympathy for the past 12 months.

So with all this said I can't lie and say we've been stellar this season. But the season is young still. And what I will say is that we were very close to 7 points from 9. The teams we played will likely finish bottom half but in a way that is irrelevant.

We look a bit better after this international break. It's not a time to get carried away though. The proof on whether our season will be top half or bottom half will come as the weeks go by. But as it stands right now and as the season has been so far. I'm hopeful that at the very worst we might not be relegation fodder. (A points deduction would change that of course)

i will give him wilder credit. for hugely for overachieving because stats & just watching us we dont look near promotion swansea, Middlesbrough, west ham & Southampton are quite alot better than us & we have rode our luck abit

& our defensive stats are worrying. Portsmouth couldve been 4 up in that 2nd half, cardiff & bolton outplayed us. Micheal cooper is the only reason why we are where we are

Well then, it's a good thing he's ours.

Inverted wingers are no use at our level of talent.
Ours are more effective with their flank matching their foot
