Langford is a disgrace

But still, from that list:

  • Last night - Portsmouth player not sent off for a knee high challenge on Bamford go unpunished
  • Charlton match - Foul on McCallum in a similar nature to Soumare's, went unpunished
  • Blackburn away in 2024 where he let an obvious elbow on Souza? go unpunished
  • The Burton match where Coutts broke his leg where the challenge once again was unpunished

Hmm, Burton away where Coutts had his leg broken but was missed by the referee…

I'm saying he's not got an agenda against us.
I'm not saying he isn't incompetent.

Comments like "he shouldn't be allowed to referee us again" suggest a bias and question the man's integrity.

Being shit at your job versus consciously making decisions that could end his career are 2 totally different things

I’d forgotten he was the ref for the Burton match when Coutts got his leg broken by an unpunished reckless tackle. Bottom line is he’s just a very poor referee.

I don’t think he’s intentionally biased I just think he’s utter utter wank.

I’ve seen him referee other games on Sky and he’s been awful in every single one.

He seems to overreact on some fairly innocuous incidents and totally miss far more serious things.

Blokes a weapons grade twat

I agree to a degree with those who say we can’t blame the ref for our own failings but the fact remains at 0-0 they should have been down to ten. That is a massive turning point and everything that happened afterwards changes. I would definitely have shouted for a second yellow in the Hamza incident if it was against us but to say it was soft is an understatement especially when PGMOL are saying that the bar for a second yellow should be higher because of the huge impact that has on the game.
That said Langford didn’t fail to mark their strikers for the second and third goals

This is where we get to do we want VAR vs a referee that seems to fail to deliver his best performances and makes some questionable decisions. No referee is going to be 100% correct in Law just as no fan is due to their viewing angles however last night, he makes an error with the yellow card for the 2nd when it was clear and obvious viewing. Even if he think's it a free kick, it isn't stopping a promising attack (cautionable offence) and there is a higher threshold for a 2nd yellow, Choudhury is on his 2nd foul of the match so can't be persistent offences breach, I am really at a loss of what he has given it for. I have been refereeing at a high grassroots/semi-pro standard for 25 years and there is no way that would be given, even the 1st foul there would be argument to take the official "Stepped approach" ultimately that is a talking to in a sense/ calm it down, it's your 1st one rather than rush in and go card happy.. If you were giving those yellow cards like he was last night you would be abandoning matches left right and centre for not having enough players.

It's my fault.
The ref pulled the game back for a free kick to us after we were fouled during an attack in the first half that broke down. I praised him at the time for great refereeing. He was bound to over compensate with a howler. Ying and yang and that.

Sorry

If it was Fergie, he'd make sure Langdon never refereed his team again ;). Brian Hill never covered an Man Utd game after that first Premier League game where we beat them...

We're at a point now where the club needs to refuse to play if they give us that cunt Langford again. I'd fully support it even if it meant a 0-3

He did when Swindon played Man U in 1993-94 and sent Cantona off for retaliation

Ah, thanks! Was it after that game that Ferguson got his way? He certainly made a fuss after our game (how dare Sheffield United get a penalty!). A red card against Swindon would have sent him apoplectic!

Hes looking right at it from the side. Hes not even far from it. Its disgusting, no card no freekick, not even a play on.
Wow …. first time I’ve seen this in slo mo from this angle!!! 100% straight red ( think back to Phillips v Wednesday last season). Awful refereeing.

Soumare against Charlton:

A few inches lower, genuine attempt for the ball, just a little reckless.

While looking for that I stumbled across this gem:

Danny Hall would never say that about a wilder signing

I remember Fergie always criticised Hill but not aware if he got his way. He did referee Man U v Palace in the 1994-95 season. Hill was 48 at the end of the season and I think it was his last season as referee.

Woah woah... don't dare say that to Danny.

Thought he had a decent game. Let a lot go and kept the game moving. Hamza been done twice as he’s not a RB. Both fair bookings. One on Bamford looked bad but if he hasn’t seen it can anyone recommend a red at this level?
Its his job to see it we all did

I do hope the EFL and bookmakers are monitoring for suspicious betting patterns just to dispel any suggestions of bias and a lack of integrity.
