If he changed that one aspect other things could change as well. He's a man manager and a leader. He inspires and gets the best out of players. You only have to bring a few Lys Mousset's in to apiece some fans and the camaraderie could collapse.

I'm saying that effectively turning a blind eye to 90%+ of potential targets makes what he did the first time fucking remarkable. And clearly unsustainable. As we have seen in every job he had since the first time he was here.

Pretty sure Watford would have had plenty of international for him to have worked with, theyll have loads now as well. Maybe thats what put him off.
Not sure why we're not moaning about what he's done at other clubs though.

I'm pretty sure Watford are clued up enough in terms of recruitment that anyone they bring in would have had nothing to do with Wilder. Heck, they change managers often enough that they'd all be sacked before they ever completed a deal if it did have anything to do with them

I can't tell whether they think the head coach is important or not with how often they change them, so I can't tell either really. But after they went down with us in the Warnock season they've had twice the number of PL seasons and a cup final, so meh
