The fact we gave Campbell a new contract, even though he came back from the summer break overweight and unfit and had to be put on a personal fitness plan (which by the looks of it failed). Only Sheffield United would do that. No wonder we are woeful at the minute. What I'd do to have the ruthless Chris Wilder back from 10 years ago. Campbell would have been jettisoned in weeks. Sadly that Chris Wilder is gone forever and the current version isn't fit for purpose (and it pains me to say that).

Difficult to disagree with the above he made one run last night and the camera caught his facial expression which would have been mine had I made that run.
Thing is I'm 70 one heart attack and on the face of it fitter than cambell.

You do see Sunday league players running about more than him.

There has to be something fundamentally wrong with his physical performance.

Maybe he should speak to Lukaku, I’m sure an Italian team found something wrong with his diet. When he changed it his fitness levels went through the roof, but I’m sure this has already all been checked?

You'd like to think so, but probably not!

Cw pretty much admitted it was done so he does t leave for free and we could sell him if he ever got back to form or anyone wants to gamble on him, well words to that effect to me.

According to today's presser, CW seems fairly pleased they only extended him by 1 year rather than 2 or 3. So we're now stuck with him for 2 years.
Sensible decision would have been to give him until January to get his fat arse in gear and then decide.
But we don't do sensible.

Campbell is a disgrace and sums up our current apathy. He has all the talent and is seemingly quite happy to waste it.

Just goes to prove that getting paid thousands of pounds a week is not a motivator.
Campbell or any of the rest of the squad are not a disgrace.

He’s indeed talented but some reason he’s not producing performances like he was previously. He’s so prone to injury but I think he also over trains with weights.

Money is not a motivator above a certain amount, so many other things need to be in place as well

There are no excuses and I’m not looking to justify poor performances, but we are stuck with this squad for a few months. The league cup, whilst a nice distraction and a chance to get more games in for fringe player or young lads, is not a big deal this season. We have a small enough squad in terms of quality.

We will have shit performances and some players will be pushed aside. Peck is taking his chance now and stepping up (carrying the team) that’s what other players need to emulate.

Make a mistake? Head up and correct it. Attitude is so important and not everyone in the squad displays it. That has to change
