I think the club being so relient on him is a massive problem. I was behind the Selles appointment becauuse it appeared we were looking to restructure.

My worry is that if he goes, the Owners don't actuaully know what a good manager looks like. Who are they going to bring in?

Arrogance is his biggest downfall. Just look at the players he dropped over the years despite them having decent games then suddenly benched, Ndiaye, brooks D, brooks A, Siriki, Bogle and now Donovan! The man simply couldn’t see the talent in them or was it the arrogance of the man to stop them playing in ‘his’ team!
The weakened but ‘strong enough’ team selections in cup games where we always end up bringing on our best to try and save the game but fail! Why not play your strongest team (if you really want to go through) and then sub them off when your winning rather than the other way round.

We as a club have been going around in circles for years now. Wilder is taking us back down to complete a full circle to where we were when he first arrived as our manager ten yrs ago. I don't know how serious our owners are about bringing in new investment but if they are he needs to go before this happens. They should start with spending money on a good experienced footbal man to come in and oversee footballing matters with a remit of bringing in a good modern leading coach. Get shut of all other coaching staff and recruitment and start from scratch. Its time to end this vicious circle we have been stuck in for the last 6 or 7 yrs once and for all.

Gregg Berhalter former USA head coach but looking at their "Roster" they all look athletic, no idea if they are any good or not but a tidy build up play and finish from Jonathan Bamba in the below clip.

I was the same as you. However we rushed the appointment. We haven't interviewed candidates for the mabager position since we were in League One when Karl Robinson turned us down because we didn't have a pot to piss in financially. Ever since then we've recruited managers with no applications considered. Wilder. Jokanovich. Hecky. Wilder. Selles. Wilder. This next appointment will be the most important as it will set up the future of the club and speak volumes about where we go from here. Hiring Hecky or Sharp and giving them the job permanently of they steady the ship is not the answer for change and progress. How many managers who have done well in recent years in the Championship have we heard of before they arrived. Daniel Farke and David Wagner are two examples albeit Wagner was a while ago.

The cup is all we have to realistically play for this season with an international break coming up after the weekend and we field a weakened side and play with that negativity against a league two side, just fuck off!

Realistically, my concern is not the Cups but that if Bamford gets injured we have all on to stay in the Division.

Perhaps you're right , i think that there is a growing feeling of unrest to be sure , how can there not be .

Going back to CW was the too easy option when the time was right for change - we know the rest .....on one hand i have a lot of sympathy for CW seemingly having the rug pulled from under him in the TW ,but his construction of the squad , in spite of this , looks to be a disaster . Also , the way he conducts himself is becoming annoying - he`s not helping himself.

The goodwill in the bank is being eroded - even within his strong support base - i know as i am one . This could result in a tipping point where the minority become the majority and the whole pack of cards fold. Perhaps this is needed and he walks before being pushed.

The cancer is setting in and growing - he should never have come back .

Personally - i think the team will win a few / lose a lot more and just hang in there. This will hold back the tide and he will survive . But this is just treading water ,which perhaps the owners wanted which is why they offered him a three year deal until they either find further investors or sell up - this has to happen asap then the owners may be interested enough to pull the plug on CW again and not repeat the mistakes they have walked into .

Wilder was brilliant when he joined in 2016 - he was exactly what we needed after 6 years declining in League 1. He was experienced in management but hungry to build a team and excited to manage his boyhood club. He was not afraid of taking risks and playing ‘front foot in your face football’.

Sadly now for me, he’s lost that hunger - he’s 10 years older, I’m just not sure he’s got the desire to do this again ….despite what he may say. He’s at the back end of his managerial career & I just can’t see him being able to turn this around properly. Yes - we may scrape survival - but Wilder is not going to build a squad fit for the Premier League again.

If Rosen is to be believed regarding incoming investment, then hopefully they would be more savvy in football matters than Rosen and co. Any sizeable investor would want to have a say in the direction of the club, starting with the manager.

The big problem is …..if Wilder goes now (sacked or resigns) do we really trust these owners to appoint someone with the energy, desire, ability to build a squad and take us forward? Particularly if they are in the process of sorting out the ownership structure with a view to selling? It’s a tough one… I can’t call how this may end up.

Why do we have to wait for a manager to become available. If there is a manager who is currently unemployed then by all means approach him but if the guy we want is employed go get him, other clubs do.
