Please do not defend Wilder

We were crap but it’s league cup again with a weaker side

Didn’t perform, we don’t have the depth in the squad or the interest from the players to put a performance in

Only Peck looked interested.

But we keep hearing that Wilder's the only man for the job, the brilliant motivator that gets these shitbags playing the amazing football that they play. I think those days are well gone to be honest, he's just a tired, aging football manager trotting out the same old interviews and telling us he won't stand for what he stands for every game.

If we play like we did tonight against Stoke, we will lose and there will be every chance that our chest thumping manager will be shown the door.
We then have the international break to instill new ideas, I firmly believe that our owners will have a new manager lined up, we already have Collins and Jones in situ it’s is just the bloke who gives the interviews about culture that needs to be removed as things cannot be any worse.

The weaker side view, who’s realistically not in the first team tonight outside RND and McGuiness? I’m struggling to see how we didn’t play almost our first eleven.

Woeful, inept. Laughably bad at times.

He played 90 mins and wasn’t interested first half but neither was anyone else
I wouldn't say he wasn't interested but he's extremely lightweight. Their full back roughed him up and he had no answer. Improved second half. Overall the teams performance was unacceptable. Peck and Cooper are the only players currently not injured that get into another championship team. That speaks volumes about where we are as a club.

Soumare is going to run the show on Saturday

Not a first 11 by any stretch and players playing out of position.

I watched it but it’s the league cup and I’m rarely surprised or too bothered by the result or performance.

Back to the league and let’s look forward to the first XI to fuck it up

So who wasn’t the first eleven? Genuine question.

Players playing out of position isn’t a new thing, we’ve had Hamer on the LW, now blaster.

Rubbish observation that
he took some stick first half and was doubled up on
looked like the only one trying to do something positive
Put in a great ball to cannon
In fact he was head n shoulders above the rest
Your going to say RND had a blinder next then

Yeah fair enough. Wasn’t the game for Donovan.

I think it obviously speaks volumes that we don’t have any depth to the squad for a cup game.

I can’t read anymore into it than that

I’m glad you have faith in that. I can’t see it though. They’ve shown already they have no idea how to go about it when appointing Selles without interviewing him (or anyone else). We’ve now also not got a pot to piss in so paying Wilder off won’t be ideal for them. Never mind trying to identify someone to replace him - a process I wouldn’t have any trust in them with.

I get what you mean.
It's nothing new. We have lost in both cups and they've been upsets. Tonight was poor though and their were alot of first teamers playing.

You are right though too. Saturday would expect Peck to start, BBD maybe, Bamford, kitching, McCallum if fit. Phillips maybe.
That's potentially 6 players.

Perfect time to sack him off with an international break on the horizon

We gave players like Blaster, Doherty, Rothwell, mcguinness, RND, Campbell more minutes than we would normally.
So out of those essentially it’s Doherty, McGuiness and RND. The others have started/played often in the league.

Irrespective, the line up tonight should’ve beaten these. They’re league two.

Off the top of my head Mcguiness, Riedewald, Cannon and Doherty. None of whom were in the starting 11 on Sunday. Our best starting 11 is also crap. Much of a muchness.
