Making the base of your whole formation is certainly a choice.

No wonder the defence are constantly exposed.

Whose tactical decision is that?
We've been overrrun in every game this season by playing it and it continues now with 2 strikers rather than just an AM and a Striker.

It's certainly a choice. Not a good one, but a choice.

Love to hear the explanation behind it.

I don't really care. But we desperately need to accept we need 3 of them in midfield to win games at this level.

It doesn't matter how many we play in midfield.

Whoever plays in there doesn't have a clue what they're doing because we have no basic strategy, style of play or tactical nous.

The game plan from Wilder is always the same.

Run about a bit, try to get near the ball if you can and see what happens.

..... yet there's no trio that can fit together

I'd honestly start Shackleton now

Shackleton has more energy than anyone else in the middle of the park. He was the only one who looked like he still wanted to get something out the game. Everyone else other than Donovan had given up at half time.

I said to my Dad, Shackleton was the only outfield player who didn't embarrass himself in the last ten minutes.

We actually need Choudhury in midfield as he is more of a Souza type player with maybe Peck alongside. Doherty must have spat in Wilder's energy drinks bottle.
Trouble is we are overloaded with midfield players who are rubbish in midfield.

Because our right back is injured
McGuinness has been ok since been bombed out then called upon

Stick him and kitching in CD & Jaf to RB

But Wilder couldn’t wait to fuck him off again, even tho he’s been more solid than tanganga

He’s like that shit dad that says he don’t have favourite child but it’s clear to see he does

Because our genius manager signed him to play there.
And people saying he was great at right back in the 92 point season are forgetting he was playing right back when we fell apart as a team in the latter stage of the season and it was our right side that Sunderland completely targeted in the play off final.

He’s a shite right back - too slow, immobile, stands off his man, doesn’t defend the back post well enough and doesn’t have the pace to join the attack.

An absolutely crap signing and waste of wages.
