I Just Want More (not that one)

We know the backdrop. The window was.... Practical of not disastrous. The general consensus from the outside -and plenty on the inside - is that we’re staring at a transitional year, a consolidation effort, or worse, a grim scrap for survival while the owners look on with complete apathy.

I get the arguments, but I'm just not getting the dread.

In fact, it’s the exact opposite. I feel that something's brewing, there’s something in the air that I felt with good seasons in the past. It’s a confusing feeling - I can’t wait for the next match. Part of me says I should be dreading what's coming, but I can't shake the sensation of excited anticipation. Something good is going to happen.

I’m not looking at squad depth charts or board politics right now; I’m watching this group. I’m impatient for the next 90 minutes. I’m anticipating the Behind-The-Blades clips, replaying the highlights, and watching for partnerships and chemistry to start take hold on the pitch. I have an irrational hope about this group, that contradicts the on paper narrative. Weirdly, I'm finding the prospect of the season exiting.

I don't think I'm blindly happy-clapping, there's something in the waters that for me, is driving a quiet, stubborn buzz every time kickoff approaches.

Bollocks to the backroom drama. Bring on kick off.
Like your positivity...I'm the same with the boardroom stuff,i'm more focussed on what's going on with the team on the pitch, and thought we were a bit fortunate to beat Bolton, but we did,and now onto Norwich and hoping we can see improvement as we go further into the season...some good signs though...I expect we might take a beating or two,but team spirit looks good, liking the look of Donovan,Coops looks back to his best,Phillips will hopefully stay fit and on the pitch, and who knows, but i'm thinking mid table is realistic at present. UTM+B!

and i think we will be better defensively with kitching alongside tanganga midfield is still a bit of a concern dm is covered by philips and jairo as good as owt in the division its the other 2 slots that concern me peck arblaster and rothwell not really firing and playing too many 5 yard passes often putting us in trouble

Ron Justice, spotted at the back of the Kop on saturday, as Brooks scores his 2nd to send Norwich 3-0 (assist by A. Slimani):

Don't agree with your prediction, but have 10+ points for spotting my tenuous reference. 👏

Yes,not sure what the best pairing is assuming it's 442 or 4231..i do think we miss a central midfielder who regularly goes past his man and can play a pass or score from 20 yards...they are all decent midfielders but it's getting the best pairing.
Just glad we've got Donovan out wide.

Fully agree my friend our fans need to realise we took 10 games last season to get to 6 points.
We have done it in 4 and undefeated this season onwards and up.

I can kind of see where you are coming from we still have a very decent squad of footballers when fit cooper , tanganga , Phillips, bamford , bbd, Donovan seriki , burrows , Campbell, peck , one, McCallum , arblaster on paper is more than good enough at this level but moulding that into a cohesive unit that can overcome it's shortfall in pace and attacking intent is the hard part if wilder can do that then top 8 is not outrageous

Erm, how do you get 31 points from 10 games?

By only looking at the home games column 🤣 🤣

After 10 games (home and away) Leicester were 4th with 17 points..
