So why is everyone piling in on him? Seriki would have been similarly roasted against that winger and he is a right back.
no one is piling in they are stating what they are seeing.

It's concerning if we expect Choudhary to be our main right back for any considerable length of time.

Choudhury’s awful performance was pulling the whole defence out of shape. He did Tanganga & McGuiness no favours at all. He gets a free pass from me because it was his first game, but he was shite all evening.

And the fans don’t need another scapegoat, they’ve already decided it’s Arblaster. As you say, I’m sure they’ll be overjoyed to have one, and of course there always has to be one, it’s one of the really wank aspects of our support, unfortunately.

When is a player a scapegoat or just not good enough? There are plenty of players that get criticised regularly - Arblaster, Cannon, Phillips, McGuinness, I could go on! There are more players getting stick than praise these days.

He’s been a reasonably competent stop gap right back in his day.. but his real position is CDM.. but we have about 5 of those , a least 3 of whom are better footballers.. I am mystified why we signed him

Its all down to organisation and positioning. You need a dominant player at centre back who yells and points to keep some shape. Hamza was too far forward when our attack broke down and Tanganga was too far away to snuff it out early.

I didn’t think Doherty was that bad against Blackburn reserves in the cup. He is hugely overweight now but not more so than Jairo or Campbell has been. Presume he has clashed with Wilder somehow to not be getting game time

Admittedly he didn’t look good

But sometimes you have to hold you hands up and say the opposition played well. That winger looked a real danger very time he got the ball.

I’ll wait and see how he plays after he’s bedded in

If there is an issue with Doherty, then what an absolute fuck up! How much has him and Choudhury cost? 🤦‍♂️

Do you not think a proper right back would’ve faired better than a part time one? The standard of left wing play is only going to get better when we play some of the better teams.

We need Seriki back ASAP, but in the meantime we need Doherty to do the job he was signed to do!

I just think he was decent last time out here. A solid right back In This division

For example I’ve seen him be our best player in our biggest game of the season (play off final). So I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now

Thier winger was speedy as anything. I’m sure he’ll cook a few right backs for pace over the season

Gale was really, really good tonight, he's never normally that consistent with end product to back it up.

Choudhury was crap, Donovan didn't help him and the whole structure was a mess, particularly for the second goal. All get a let off given the circumstances.

Yeah he’s shown he can be a solid right back and a pretty bang average midfielder. I assume we’ve picked up his Leicester wages for the season or at least close to? Is he really worth something like £50k a week?

He’s a solid squad addition, but doesn’t represent value for money at the wages Leicester were paying and presumably what we are now paying.

Hamza needs to get up to speed quick, he was all over the place for much of the game with the winger going at him

Defensively we were woeful tonight. Tanganga and Hamza were poor.

But they’ll have to get sorted quick.

Yeah I don’t think people are factoring in just how expensive he is…

He’s fine squad depth at RB and CM but he’s coming in as by far the top earner in our squad, probably the top earner in SUFC history… and he doesn’t even get near our best XI. Surely we could fill that squad depth for much less money?

£50k a week plus bonuses is at least £2.6m outlay… For that money we could be taking a punt on a couple of the exciting league 1 or 2 players, who can fill the squad and might actually have upside and resale value.

No, 100% I would have used what limited resources we had on creativity and relied on Doherty / Tanganga / Baptist to play there until seriki is fit.

I Don’t hate the deal overall. But Hate the haphazard way the squad has been out together though.

He was good at RB last time he was here but he was exposed by raw pace last night. Lucky that Cooper was on top form and that some of their shooting was wayward at best.

Probably doesn't help playing alongside chumps like Tanganga and McGuinness have have both reverted to type.

What is we'd paid Leicester £2.5M and he agreed to play for free for a year?

By playing well.

He wasn't on the pitch long enough to really say one way or the other for me. What I can say is, while he was in the pitch, he didn't drop a clanger and went mostly unnoticed - one intercepted through ball aside.

His cameos thus far have been brief, but credit where it's due, it looks like there's a chance that he might be a decent player.

I'll reserve judgment until I've seen him play multiple 90 minutes.

Must be just me - I thought he did more right than wrong! Some brilliant tackles. Sure, caught out in first minute, but so was the entire team.

Was saying this last night. We've brought in a lad who, when everyone is fit, would be out 5th choice CM and 3rd choice RB.

My mate who's a Chessie season ticket holder is amazed Sam Curtis isn't our reserve RB. He was their best player last season and based on Sat/last night he couldn't be any worse than Baptiste/Choudhury....

Those “exciting league 1 or 2 players” won’t “get the club” or carry enough culture though. We can only sign players who have an existing connection to the club or area.

Absolutely. Obviously i don't see what happens in training and players attitudes etc, but sending a young RB on the mythical lower League loan and him being brilliant, yet we still bring in slow, unathletic players like Choudhury and Doherty and play Baptiste there on Saturday. It makes no sense to me at all.... Especially when it seems every team now have big athletic wingers....

I don't think we'll be paying his full wage, Leicester will have written some of it off.
He'll still be relatively expensive though and it's a terrible, lazy signing
