We absolutely did not need to re sign Choudury. We have Doherty as cover, and Tanganga can also play there now that we have extra CB cover. Worst case you stick Shackleton or Baptiste in there.

So that money spent on Choudury's wages and signing on fee could have gone towards another loan for an attacking player.

The owners can fucking do one, but Wilder has dropped a massive bollock with that decision.

Other than one they are all “don’t get relegated” signings.

It is absolutely laughable and disgraceful we didnt have a list of backups for these eventualities.

Why are we not at least taking a small gamble on a league 1 player?

How are there ZERO loans available from one of the top 6 clubs?

Our scouting team have basically had the whole summer off.
EXACTLY. With how much they've recouped this summer.

We were told before buying season tickets that we were going to rebuild the team for this season. Can't wait to see the back of these crooked corrupt owners. I hope the EFL throw the book at them, they've made us a team which players won't want to join. I couldn't bring myself to attend tonight, so let someone borrow my season ticket.

most of the so called fans are mugs if this forum is anything to go by
Well I am 100% certain none of us are on here to be liked, we all have our own opinions and if people don't like that it is tough sh*t.

I genuinely couldn't care less.

Take it you've not actually seen Tanganga at RB?

Lost for words. We tried? According to Blades Ramble United have known about wrexham interest for days and all this talk of deals lined up obviously doesn't include COH then? Mental and we have zero chance of anything other than 15th, AT BEST. And I'm a total clapper and glass half full type.

Beating a promoted team at home in the last minute will not improve the mood of the fans.

It's ok though, we've kept Tom Cannon. The one player we'd all have accepted had he left.
Honestly Wilder should know better than anyone not to take our fans for idiots.

This we tried but BS was Kevin McCabes famous saying and the most infuriating nonsense I have heard.

I can take it if the owners and manager Is honest with us but what I will not stand for is the owners and manager taking the p*ss.

I used to love Chris Wilder and I was even touting him for England manager at one point but his fall off in terms of where he was to where he is now is criminal.

Wilder has turned far too defensive, we went from forward thinking attack minded manager to a defensive mindset which is frustrating.

It’s not like people are asking for the earth

Have a plan, have a scouting network - bring someone in to soften the blow of losing our best players. Don’t be left with your dick in your hands

It’s gross negligence by wilder and the scouting (and the board tbf) to leave us this short of competition and competence at the top end of the pitch.

No one was expecting us to sign players for money. Loan an attacking midfielder and get a last minute winner and people will accept that we are penniless and have to sell our best players but at least feel there’s a plan in place to withstand a single injury.

Feels like we have happily Just sleepwalked into an absolutely pointless season.

You can tell with his post match interview he was frustrated with the sales, lots of huffs and puffs.

This is on the owners, Wilder changed his tune as the the players he did not want to sell got sold, what else can he do.

If he comes out and slates the owners he makes his position untenable and completely upsets the already rocky boat, he has a job to do, get results and get a tune out of the team.

As I said, worst case you use him there IF Doherty is unavailable. The point being we have some options. Whereas up front we have just flogged the 3 players who created most of the goals from the 4-2-3-1 formation last season. We have replaced that 3 with Donovan, who admittedly looks a real player and BBD, who may do ok for us again. This is despite Wilder saying that we needed to strengthen that area before anyone was sold.

We needed a CAM or a LW. Anyone who could cause problems and create chances in that area of the pitch. We didn't need another player who can cover RB and CDM, if the players that Wilder has already signed are any good.

Agree its worst case scenario Tanganga at RB.

What will be much, much worse is if Donovan gets injured...which we all know is inevitable...and we have to rely on Chong (if fit) to create our chances down that side.

I get it’s frustrating but it’s also his job to be prepared for this. He knows where we are in the food chain now and that means at any point our decent players could be picked off

He’s got to be ready for that with a list of 3-5 replacements in each position we can go for. If he’s running the club like we hear, he needs to make sure he has the recruitment team that has the bandwidth to react and get things done at short notice.

However as it is (given we clearly didn’t have any plans or realistic shortlists) I’m happy at least it’s stopped us from panic buying and lumbering the club with more expensive long contracts that take us years to unwind - it’s probably a blessing in disguise.

I can't agree there, sorry. What's he supposed to say?!

Yeah Andy, these owners have sold my best player at the death, I told them not to but it is what it is.

Did you notice how Wilder didnt mention the board because if he did it would likely be only negative. He can't win whatever he says. You have to read between the lines. He has to keto them onside until they hopefully go.

What a load of chad, to lose Brooks, Hamer and Ohare in the same window and replace them all with Kitchen is criminal. I bet Wilder is going to bed happy tonight, bet hes thinking cracking window for the blades🤦🏼‍♂️

Another disappointment of a transfer window. Big style. I never thought we'd sell three key players. Two, perhaps. And I thought if COH left then we'd sign a replacement, surely. No doubt they did try but we agreed to let COH leave knowing we might replace him; we didn't.

I was quite critical of fans at the end of last season who said league one here we come. It's looking much more likely now. A car crash of a transfer window plus all the board troubles. Have we just sold all these players to potentially cover the fact they can't or won't pay the Prince?

If it's SCR then fair enough, but is it to this extent?

Ultimately we'll not know because they can't or won't communicate with the fans.

I do totally disagree with any fans blaming Wilder as some sort of puppet. What can he say?! He's the only reason we have a chance of staying up this season. Staying up?! What a joke. I hoped for so much more this season. But we'll be fortunate to avoid a relegation battle.

Why do you think they have Wilder the contract extension???…… makes sense now.. paid puppet

Has anyone seen if there were any other loans out last night?

I know Blacker and Ukaki were expected.

Am I right that if not, they can only get loaned out to non league?

On the lack of preparation to cover outgoings with free/loan signings, it really shows how bad our scouting is and how inflexible Wilder is.

Of the players signed this season:
Donovan - new player
Doherty - new player
Phillips - former player
Choudhury - former player
Kitching - new but local player
Brereton-Diaz - former player

We were also heavily interested in Souttar - another former player.

So then when something happens late in the window, it's hardly a surprise that we're not in any position to act quickly and find someone to cover the gaps as the pond we fish in is so very small. It's genuinely pathetic when you look at what some of our contemporaries bring in. We've fallen so very far behind clubs that are arguably smaller than us and we'll not catch up for a generation. Pretty much all down to a scouting and managerial setup that focusses on players knowing this intangible club culture. Even Doherty who had never played for us was flagged as a target due to being a culture carrier.

It's such a slog following this club at times when it need not be.

Rubbish! I'm only here to be liked, and when someone calls me a nasty name or says they dislike cricket and/or Prog Rock, I flounce for a couple of hours.

I expect Wilder has been played just like we have. He can t tell us what he wants to say.

The main thing he's said is frees and loans. Which is what it's been. I'm sure if he could sign permanent players he would but they've got to be good. Last years permanent signings by the board were crap bar McGuiness in my view who I think could be useful but he'll be behind Kitchen now anyway
50k week on Choudray does that make sense

50k a week we are paying for him - this club is crackers

How can you keep somebody on side and trust that they wont shyte on you (which they have already) when they are running away from a 35 million debt at your expense

You can always add 2+2 and get 4.

O'Hare was a last minute sale. Kitching only got informed yesterday that you was interested in him. So to me it l99ks like the money for O'Hare has gone towards your running costs for the season and his wages will now be going to cover for Kitching.

The question is did Wilder know.the situation with finances or has he been lied to by your owners. He might well have known, but saying it out loud would just have caused trouble.

If he came out as he had previously with the Prince and basically had a go at the owners then he's making his job untenable with them. Ok, he's in a very strong position but going public on what's happening behind the scenes is definitely not going to help anything and change nothing from the owners other than to cause grief and vulnerability for Wilder.

I wish some of our fans could see this.
