Transfer Deadline Day Thread

We have had to bring in so many central defensive midfield players as they can only last 45 minutes / each subsequently meaning we have not got enough loan slots for strikers and wingers.

The plan was sales to cover running costs first that includes wages transfer instalments and budget and people keeping their office club jobs etc. so around 25 million possibly the figure before we can speculate on purchases. I would not be surprised if we lose another 1 or 2 before 7.45
We seem to be the only selling club ffs 🤬 oh well, Benidorm in the morning 🌄

What makes me laugh a bit is the club twitter just has to go on as if it’s business as usual and not get wrapped up in any emotion of it all.

I can see it now. 10:59 the deal sheets are in. Time for one more?

Comes up: Seriki joins Toffees for undisclosed fee!

Confirmed that’s the end of the business for the day.

Brief recap

Ins - a bloke who’s been injured for 4 years but has a Blades tattoo.
Outs - anyone who can pass to a teammate more than 50% of the time!

Goodnight UTB!

Given the financial state that we are probably in I think that this window leaves us competitive on the pitch and much sounder off it.
Like others I was hoping for at least one exciting player, but this squad is not that bad, albeit potentially boring.
Not long before the JTW !

Now we’ve sold pretty much the Crown Jewels of the team I wonder how much money the owners will need before they pay up their debt to the previous owner? plus there’s the money that we have to make up by not having any parachute payments because of their F’up.

Lost for words. We tried? According to Blades Ramble United have known about wrexham interest for days and all this talk of deals lined up obviously doesn't include COH then? Mental and we have zero chance of anything other than 15th, AT BEST. And I'm a total clapper and glass half full type.

Beating a promoted team at home in the last minute will not improve the mood of the fans.

It's ok though, we've kept Tom Cannon. The one player we'd all have accepted had he left.

No, I'm sorry, but that's just not fucking good enough. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Wilder has held 3 narratives this window:

Version 1: last season was not good enough. This season needs to be better and will be better, we know what we need.

Version 2: we have one of the better wage bills in the division and I need to coach the players we have, to get more out of them. It will be loans and frees.

Version 3: we go with what we've got.

That is simply unacceptable.

You cannot remove Hamer, O'Hare and Brooks and go with what you've got.

Fucking inexcusable.

Wilder, we need you now to front this up, as a Blade and tell it how it is. Call the owners on their bullshit. This is simply not good enough. You are being mugged off, we are and the club is being neglected.

This is the equivalent of the petrol industry pushing prices to nearly £2 per litre and people being happy when it settles back down to the £1.60 per litre mark. Are we meant to be happy that Burrows, Cooper and Cannon are here, because they could've left too and so this is a fairly OK window after all.

No, get to fuck.

In other words.
There isn't anything clearly a good enough option on a loan or a free. That we can afford.

Things can change though. I mean on free transfer wise. But probably won't.

One, Chong and Burrows to at some point come back in as creative attacking outlets. And Seriki of course.

But we are massively missing at the top end which is why 2nd half it just kept coming back. 1st half we kept swarming forward first 20 mins and Bolton struggled with us.

But its options we need. Donovan was great. If you could get another of him in the left we could be lethal.

I raised the question of him calling Bettis and the owners out if they left him hanging, a few weeks ago.

Let’s see if he gives them both barrels or circles his wagon with them.

He has been (gently) clear that any deals sat with other people, incomings or outgoings. He now needs to drop people in it.

I don't believe that Wilder was told no on frees (still time admittedly) and loans.

That he's not used either to replace O'Hare is on him.

Obviously the clusterfuck of our finances is on the owners.

I expect Wilder has been played just like we have. He can t tell us what he wants to say.

The main thing he's said is frees and loans. Which is what it's been. I'm sure if he could sign permanent players he would but they've got to be good. Last years permanent signings by the board were crap bar McGuiness in my view who I think could be useful but he'll be behind Kitchen now anyway

If he has been played, he should just tell it straight. It hasn't stopped him in previous jobs.

There looked to be a notable f##k off towards the directors box, after the winner tonight.

Truely Pathetic -

He’s signed his own death warrant with his cowardice on the recruitment - his entire focus has been on completely the wrong areas of the pitch

The scouting department and wilder should hang their heads in shame. There wasn’t a single player in The entire world that could add some creativity to us? Jamie Shackleton we will be relying on as next man up in the likely event of an injury.

Waste of a season, waste of everyone time.

Wanking on about not wanting ‘inexperienced’ loans - he’s not managed to fill his loan allotment. Still managed to sign a load of back up defenders.

next 10 months are a write off already - just hope we do enough ti stay up.
