Most people slag Heskey off but there aren't many players who have scored more than 100 PL goals.

Obviously he would be a huge improvement on Higdon even at his age. A totally selfless player as well but he'll finish his career at a higher level than L1.

More Premier League goals than Didier Drogba, who has also scored more than 100 PL goals. Higdon, Porter and O'Grady have never even played in the Premier League.

He's right at the end of his career and not for us but I don't get the criticism he receives when you look at the strikers that have turned out for us in recent years.

Think it was just press talk, but we were linked with him before Wigan took him from Birmingham in 2007. I remember that was met with outrage at the time online - he might well have been the difference between us staying up and going down. He sort of was that in the final game that season anyway.
