By the time the window shuts I’d be surprised if we have any players you’d class as fringe or downgrade.

It will be swapping Doherty for Seriki, Arblaster for Peck, Campbell for Bamford.

Good or bad, we at least have a squad that can be described as much of a muchness. I don’t see a big margin between those that have the shirt and those that don’t.

Now that might also be endemic of not having any outstanding players but it also means we should expect a level of consistency even if it isn’t stellar or eye catching on a weekly basis.

In a strange way, the squad feels quite deep now, despite what will be lower numbers than before.

Yeah there’s an opportunity there.

If we get lucky we might progress quite far. The third round draw is already quite favourable.

Probably played week beginning 14th Sept.busy time we play Wolves the previous Sunday and Stoke following sat ! Then the suspension of the league for a while!

10 of the 16 ties involve EFL teams so with the exception of - Bournemouth/Lincoln, Palace/Boro and Man City/Norwich - as they are all playing in Europe the week of 14th, the rest will be 15th-17th sept.

The 6 all PL ties the will all play week before.... its just where do they fit in the European PL v EFL ties ?!?

Fleetwood v United can only fall on Weds 16th as we play Sunday 13th and Saturday 19th
