I was on Donovan watch today. Im really impressed and I think he's going to have one hell of a season. We keep saying One is "raw" when really he has a first touch like a trampoline, now THIS lad is "raw.
United have shared a clip of him today and it sums him up perfectly. He makes a good run, miss controls the ball, then decides to redeem himself by curling an unstoppable shot into the top corner. Even just knocking the ball between himself and Gus infront of the fans, a couple he spooned out of reach for Hamer, then the others were perfection.
On the mic he said he's about beating men and excitement. His bravery and enthusiasm will be infectious. He's the right kind of young and nieve for me. Wingers need to mentally resilient, not everything comes off and you can shrink if you feel the wingback is coming out on top. This kid seems to have the belief and attitude to stick to his game, until he pulls out some magic.

Plus, he was really nice to my daughter today when they had a picture 😅

He's a good lad. Know him from infant school where we attended the same breakdancing class.
I remember one day he was doing the flares and caught Miss Pickleboobs (Our teacher) around the ankles and sent her flying through the air. She landed on this weakling of a lad and and snapped him. He died up a tree whilst walking home.
She still hasn't forgiven him, 40 years on!

And it was only ten-to-three. In the afternoon.

Favourite Food? Steak and Chips

Favourite Sexual Position? Doggy

Anyone else remember 'Focus On....' in Shoot?
Favourite actor was nearly always Clint Eastwood

Favourite sexual position must have been in the top shelf version

I think Romelle is showing tonight he should be competition for the 10 with COH. He's not just a winger thats for sure. He's a lot neater on the ball and isn't as shot shy.
(thats if were going with the 5 at the back)

Quality tonight and if he can perform like that consistently, we have a real game changer in the team.

We need at least one more like him though, and then need to hope that Chong can really step up.

Ideally we would have 5 players competing for the 3 behind the striker, or strikers as it was tonight.

O'Hare, Donovan, Chong, new LW, new CAM/10

I suppose we can thrown One into the mix as a LW if needed and perhaps Rothwell can operate further up the pitch as a CAM/10. But we need some new legs and creativity in there regardless.

He's hard to shake off the ball, resists pressure well, and has enough pace to trouble teams at this level in that way as well

Also appears to have good fitness and work rate

End product remains to be seen but I'm hopeful on that

He had an end product at the end last night. I'm hoping he can push on and past Andre Brooks in the time that we have him.

Beat me to it. Thought the same watching him lastnight, very good performance.
if donovan shows that kind of commitment he will be in the team every game think that aspect was the problem with brooks he had the skills but never quite showed the commitment for me we might have got a player here just need somebody on the left now

Betcha he’s on the bench next game.

As others have said, what I appreciate is a) trying to beat his man and moreso b) when trying something, if it doesnt come off hes sprinting like a madman to gain possesion back. He seems to have a lot of energy and high workrate, and that for me is a massive plus. Really hoping for a good start to season for him

He was excellent, constant threat and positive - also loved when he lost control on the right wing but chased the Blackburn player all the way down back down to right back area to make a sliding tackle.

If Chong is still injured he's likely to be playing 90 minutes for the next few games!
Depends on what formation we play.

He’s had 1 good game in 4 when I’ve seen him, about right from what Warnock used to say with players of that age.

You know I’m not sure I’ve managed to see Chong play for us live yet. Always seems to be injured when I get round to going. Last time he didn’t get beyond the pre game warm up. What’s he done now?
