Blackpool fans ask for a swap back.

Was talking with 3 Blackpool fans last night in the working mans club near the ground. In all fairness a great group, had a good laugh with them despite them being a bit down to say the least about their club at the minute. Anyway I asked them how McMahon was getting on for them in which I was greeted with silence and then "When are you off home? Can you take him back with you?".

They went on to tell me that he has had the odd "average" game for them but for the most he has been poor. They said he was an honest enough player but just didn't have the ability to go with it. His tackling, positioning, passing and everything else wasn't up to scratch what so ever. For this reason they would give him away.

As for Basham they seem really saddened to see him leave the club. They said he will do good with us. I told them that his first few games had been a bit hit and miss but again they reassured me that he will come good and be a decent player once he has settled in a bit. They said he is Championship quality and he would be still in their first team if it was up to them.

Mcmahon was an honest, always gave 100% footballer for us - just lacked a bit in ability.

Problem is, we have been spoiled by decent RB's in recent years and there is every reason to think Alcock will be another half decent full back.

McMahon was thuggish at times and I had no time for his 'point and blame' tactic whenever he was caught out of position and/or losing his man.

You know that type of thundercunt who bollocks his teammates whilst casually strolling around the oppositions half of a 5 a side pitching taking wild shots and contributing f**k all, well McMahon is the professional equivalent of that.

I would have been hard pushed to use the word 'honest' and 'McMahon' in the same sentence. He was always at it with the officials and opposition players, taking a tumble to 'win' free kicks, a little pull here, a little tug there, he was always playing either right to the edge of the rules, or more often than not just over them. Sometimes it worked in his favour, sometimes it backfired, he'd have been better just playing the game straight.
