He does just Like Andre does in yellow. If they wanted to continue in the Red and White they would have signed new contracts.

I think after the initial 'romance' between Hamer and CCFC 'going back home' has waned somewhat, and the attraction of wanting to be back in the PL for both club and player has been replaced with reality (almost weekly defeats and regular beatings for club, and fleeting time on the pitch for the lad himself, mostly from the bench), i can see a scenario where (before Xmas) where the CCFC fans are bemoaning his lack of fitness and game changing moments, whilst the lad himself will start looking back at his time at the Lane more fondly, remembering when he was the main star of a Championship team, playing week in week out, and the fans were more tolerant of him and his seeming inability to do regular 90 mins game time due to his match winning potential at championship level to compensate.

Its like hes given up his regular pretty and steady girlfriend with nice home (SUFC), to go back to his first girlfriend (CCFC) who has promised him stockings, lots of sex, glitzy parties... but then after that great initial couple of months, the cracks start appearing and the arguments start (again..), the sex is no longer exciting.... and instead, that time you had with that pretty lass who treated you well, didnt moan if you went out with the lads, tea on the table each evening, looked after you, and was more forgiving of your little irritations.... suddenly starts to look a whole lot more appealing again.

In short, yes GH's bank balance will be a lot healthier (he wasnt getting a shabby wage already, though), but realities will soon kick in and perhaps Gus will start to realise what he gave up at the Lane and what he no longer has (being the 'star player' in a Championship team playing with his good pals and settled in the area with small commute to work every day).

I dont begrudge him his move, thats his right, but i do think sometimes people just see money and immedate prestige rather than truly realising what they already have going on for themselves in life. Gus has made his decision, and I will watch with mild interest from afar how his career with his first 'football club girlfriend' goes. I sincerely hope we dont go back in for him in January on loan...or in the future ( i can see his levels tailing off quite quickly after hes 30/31). He's made his bed now.

Christ we have had much better players than Gus Hamer, the club has done well to cash in before he is totally worthless, great when he does a bit of magic and scores a wonder goal but sadly more likely to pick up a yellow card these days, certainly not a team player. I don't get this urge that some fans have to suck his piddle stick.

I can see a situation whereby, they struggle to compete at all, week in, week out.

At that point, frustration grows. Within that, if he isn't at it, the romance will grow. I think they'll quickly see that they have a better play back technically but a player that is far off it athletically and having made a step up in division.

It's a genuine thank you and GLTTL, I think he might need it.
