As a child of the 70’s and 80’s one of my favourite players was Keith Edwards. Next week on the 24th it is 50 years since a young 19 year old scored his first goal for the Blades. He went on to be the most prolific goal scorer the Blades have known (post war) more than Deano, Billy etc. The only other player to score more was another great Alan Woodward but he played in twice the amount of games.
Arguments could be had about levels etc but Keith was the poacher supreme.
I believe this needs to be mentioned at the next home game and hopefully a proper invite to the game.
I hope there are other fans who think the same and if anyone has got the ear of anyone at the lane this could be facilitated. It would be great to honour a true LIVING legend.

Just before my time watching the Blades, but his goal record is outstanding.

Even if you take his whole career, not far off a goal every other game, based on 500+ career appearances. Shows the level of consistency achieved.

Had the knack of scoring goals whatever the level, never really got a chance at the top level because scoring was all he did, outside of the penalty area he was a passenger.

How times change, wouldn't get a lookin in today's set up, too young, not good enough, needs to be loaned out then sold on .........

The goal he scored at Bolton when we lost 3,1 got us promoted if you know you know
Seem to remember a lot of bottles and seats flying around in the bottom left corner next to the away end, of the stand we were sat in that day. All the Bolton fans rushing from the kop to that corner through that stand we were sat in.
Didn't King keef collide with his head with the goal post when he headed that goal in?

Blackburn away 86
Lost 6-1 ...Edwards for United im sure it was a milestone goal for him
I was only 14/15 ...Great adventure with my slightly younger cousin.
I always remember us doing the conga in away end after 6th went in .
